I took the Oath on January 25, Winnipeg office.

My certificate came in the mail today, finally. Guess this is the end of my journey with IRCC! Good luck to everyone else waiting patiently!

You wouldn’t have to if you can prove that you need to travel in 25 business days. But if you don’t, then yes, the only other option would be to mail it out and wait to get it back. And that itself might take another 20-30 business days.

Congratulations! You can only apply for your passport in-person if you have to travel within the next 25 business days, and you also need to prove it by providing a booked flight ticket or the like. Otherwise, you need to mail out the documents.

Mine was January 25th (Calgary applicant, Winnipeg office) and still waiting. Today makes it 3 weeks!

I contacted them and the agent said although he could see my certificate number, he couldn’t provide it to me because of “security and privacy reasons”. So I guess I just gotta keep waiting ugh

I thought they needed one’s original certificate to process the passport? I’ll for sure give them a call and see how that goes! Thank you!!
