Citizenship Certificate After Oath

Do we receive only one certificate or two? I know they need the original for the passport soi was wondering if we would need to request another certificate?

My wife received her Oath certificate in mail yesterday. I am still waiting for mine even though they both were sent out from same office, same day. And surprisingly Mississauga office, sent a confirmation email yesterday too that the certificates have been mailed out on 17th Feb in separate envelopes for both of us.
No. Passport Canada will return you the original. Issuing a new certificate takes 15 months.
oh wow, exactly 4 weeks! It's only been a week since my ceremony so i still have to wait a while. Also from Winnipeg
I’m actually a Calgary applicant, just that the Winnipeg office handled my application from start to end.
Hey Congratulations!! I'm still waiting for mine, they said it was dispatched January 31st from Nova Scotia coming to BC, still waitting, hope it has not been lost

I took my oath of Feb 7th and file closed on the 9th. I have not received my certificate either. This should probably give you an idea of how long this is taking.
Interesting. Is this common practice for them to email us once the certificate has been mailed? Or did you receive that notification because you emailed them asking for an update prior?

Not sure if it's a common practice or not but I did request them in email earlier to update once the certificates have been mailed out. Though, I wasn't expecting them to update me anyway

due to the passing of my mother I need to go back home ASAP to be with my dad.
My Oath Ceremony is next Saturday Feb 26th, and I was wondering if there is anyway to ask IRCC to expedite the dispatch of my Certificate?
I can`t wait the deadline of 4 weeks.

Congratulations!! I sent them an email a few days ago so hopefully they will notify me as well. I haven’t checked my mail for the day - I dread the disappointment lol.
