Hi everyone,

I am wondering if the criterion (of a medical exam) for our PR is different than the one for a TRV/work permit/etc ? In other words, if our medical exam for a work permit is approved by IRCC, does it mean it will be approved for our PR ? I guess it's a little bit different, because they're stricter and more severe when it comes to the PR with their concept of fardeau excessif (the cost threshold for excessive demand on health and social services). Am I right ?

The excessive demand criteria does not apply to spousal apps.

Good question. I've the same, and I wish from the bottom of my heart that I don't have to give additional documents....but, unfortunately, that's temporary, they might ask you additional documents later, like a PCC or the annex A. :(

Oh, so, there is no guarantee they even reviewed my additional documents? Would you know if it is 100% reviewed and accepted, what would the status be then?

Our application was delivered via courier today. Any idea how long until the process starts rolling, and we get login information?

It’s a mix for everyone as I can see. Some people get it within a month while others get it several months later. I personally got my application number after 5 months.

The rule now is around 4-8 months; less than that is exceptional. Get ready for that and mine was 6 months.

Crap, I figured it would just be a day or two. Does the 12 month estimation begin now, or only when they activate it in the computer?

In theory starts the day it is received but it's only an estimate.

You should look at the tracker spreadsheet, they seem to have picked up the pace in recent months.

I have no idea, just go to the post office and figure it out. "Stamped" here just means it should be paid for. Most would suggest registered mail with tracking/notification of delivery. Up to you.
Honestly, you can even use regular mail and there is no issue. I never mailed out anything before and was confused about this too. I went to Canada Post and asked for register mail but apparently my package weighed more or or something, and they said even regular mail is safe do not worry. And they give you a tracking number regardless. That’s what I did, and tracked it. And to make sure it was delivered, I contacted Canada Post customer service as well, and they to confirmed. So it really depends on you.

@armoured can you please provide suggestions on this as well ?
If there are no family ties then answer is NO and that is it, you don’t need to explain. It’s only if it was YES, you must explain as it would say, “if yes, please explain.”
Also, if your marriage is arranged, then of course you will need to explain and so on. The questions are very self explanatory, read them carefully. For example, if question says “if yes, please explain” and your answer is “yes”, then you explain. If it’s “no” then you don’t have to explain for certain questions.

There's a later section to explain how met or introduced, this info goes there if not related. Just needs to work through the forms.

Hi everyone,

I am getting incredibly worried here. Spousal Visa Outland. Wife in India.

Basically:

May 2020: Submitted application

March 2021: Medical request

March 2021: They received Medical information.

I had contacted my local MP and they informed me that my file was selected to remain in Canada due to delays at the Visa Application Centre in New Delhi. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Are there any chances that we will get the PPR by October so I can see my wife this year?
Mine is from April 2019. Medical, finger prints, police certificates, all the forms done on December 2020. Still no news.
