Steps for Outland Spousal Sponsorship

Hello everyone,

My husband and I got recently married and would now like to start our spousal sponsorship.
I am from Honduras, and have been in Canada since Jan 1st. My stay will end in June 30, but I would like to request a visitor record extension while we get approved for the spousal sponsorship.
I saw another thread here from a married couple who did the same, the canadian citizen applied for the approval of applying and the foreign wife was in canada under TRV, they also applied for visitor extension (with the intention to remain together in Canada while waiting for the approval of sponsorship)
This is pretty much the same process we want to follow with my husband, however he is from Quebec.
We've been reading the checklist and documents but it looks so overwhelming and we really don't know where or how to start, we don't want to make any mistakes.
Do you think this process is really that complicated?
Can someone tell me if it would be worth it to hire someone that can help us with the entire process?
We are unsure if this is something we can easily do ourselves or if it's better to hire someone.
Please share your advice, experiences or scenarios alike!

Just start filling out the forms, make notes of the parts you don't know yet or understand, and what you need, it will start to make sense.

It's much less intimidating if you fill out the stuff you know (or think you know) and then try to answer the questions you have one by one. Break up the tasks to smaller pieces so you're not trying to fix everything at once.

You can certainly hire someone but it's not actually that complicated, just seems so when you start.

Plus collecting and getting the documents will take some time so figure out what you need and the forms bit by bit.

YOu'll end up going over all the forms many times, that's good, check for errors continuously.

The forms actually make the process look harder than it is.

If you're relatively detail oriented, you'll be okay. Read. re-read, re-re-read, and -- as previous posters have suggested -- "layer on" knowledge as you re-re-re-read, the steps will reveal themselves.

One thing I'd suggest: go through a draft set (or several!) of the forms in the checklist, then cross out "Applicant" and replace it with your name, and cross out "Sponsor" and replace it with your husband's name.

Much of the fog will lift.
