Did others receive an email from IRCC today notifying them about longer than usual processing times? The "details about application section" now says: we are currently finalizing most apps received between May 26 and June 1, 2019. Wondering if 2019 is an error and it's suppose to say 2020... I know processing applications are everywhere based on what people have been posting here though.

It seems it was a mass emailing.

The 'finalizing apps' dates don't mean they're not working on files submitted after that date:

“ Please everyone send email to Jenny Kwan at her email Jenny.kwan@parl.gc.ca to expedite family reunification. She is NDP critic for immigration. You could find her on Facebook as well. If we do not raise our voices it will be months and months of delays. Please share your concerns about London UK visa office being one of the slowest visa office for Canada. Please share message to everyone visa social media and every method possible. “
This could get LVOs turnaround time to increase.
I already sent her an email, please do your part.
Thank you.

Update on IRCC processing capacity for your Family Class – Spouses & Partners application.
If you are a representative, please share this important information with your clients.
Dear client,

Thank you for your interest in Canada. We are looking forward to having you here.

Due to the impacts of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we’re experiencing longer than usual processing delays. Rest assured, we are still actively processing your Family Class – Spouses & Partners application, but it will take longer than usual to get back to you.

This also means that we are unable to provide accurate processing times on individual applications at this time. As a result, we have removed the progress bar in the online account of Family Class – Spouses & Partners clients. You can still get the most current information about the status of your Family Class – Spouses & Partners application by checking the ‘Details about application status’ section in your online account.

In order to provide you with the most up-to-date information about our current processing capacity, we are posting weekly updates on expected processing delays by type of application.

Keep us informed of your situation
While you wait, please contact us to let us know of any changes in your application, such as a change to your situation or contact information.

Important information about Canada’s travel restrictions due to COVID-19
To protect Canadians from COVID-19, travel restrictions are in place for individuals travelling to Canada. Even when your application is complete, you may not be able to travel to Canada right away. As the COVID-19 situation changes, we regularly update our website. Visit the coronavirus disease page on the IRCC website to find the latest information before you make travel plans, and again before departing for Canada, to avoid being denied boarding or entry in Canada.

We are sorry to keep you waiting and thank you for your patience,

Sincerely,

Hi all,
I am trying to apply visitor visa for my spouse, I have given/indicated that she will stay more than 6 months, it did not ask for any medical examination. Is this a normal thing ?. In the past it used to ask for medical exam for the application.

I am trying to do this in order to complete the Biometrics and Medical exam. I Have received file number on Jan 13 and then AOR 1 on FEB 13th, nothing/no progress after that.

has any one been in this similar situation?

thank you.

Hi. Yes I received the same email. I was wondering the same thing. I really hope that it was a typographical error.
