Hello!

Recently we have got the CBSA notes and found out that we are under comprehensive security screening. Let me introduce our timeline.

12.06.20 AOR
30.07.20 Med passed/ Bio request
19.08.20 RPRF request
08.10.20 Request for my CV (main applicant)
25.11.20 Biometrics done

Eligibility and criminality passed
Info sharing complete (as per the notes)

According to CBSA notes, my husband (dependant) and me are put under the comprehensive security screening on 30.07.2020 (the same day as medical is passed and biometrics requested)
The due date of security screening (according to the notes) is 30.07.21.

@legalfalcon, please advise
- how credible is this due date? Do they usually finish the screening by that time?
- what can we expect and when?
- what can we do to speed up the process?

Frankly speaking, we are in huge frustration and will appreciate your opinion and advice.

P.S. the notes are dated at 29.01.21.

The Ecas was the old system, which is still used for paper based applications and some online applications. Not all application status can be seen here. For all express entry applications, you can see the status on MyCIC.

I am on family sponsorship visa, my first cousin have sponsor me but she told me that in May 2021 they will moved from Monitoba and I am worried.

Does that cause problem to me ?

Please guide me what should I do ?

You no longer have a “Manitoba Connection” so it will effect your file as you received a nomination based on it.

That mean rejection ?

If yes, what should i do now ?

All files start at Central Intake office and then are transferred to CPC or any inland or outland office as per the work load or specific requirements of the application. At CIO, which is in Sydney, the R10 (completeness check) is passed and a note to that effect will be entered, and also medicals are, if passed are updated.

MPs typically can get an update in 48 hours, as opposed to 30 days for an Access to Information Act request or 14 days for a Case Specific Enquiry.

MPs can also write letters on files. As Justice Ahmed noted in Nagarasa v. Canada (Citizenship and Immigration), 2018 FC 313, visa officers have to take these letters into consideration when assessing applications.

-What specifically does the CBSA check?
I am asking this, because in the notes, in the section listing the documents provided, all the documents are defined as checked or assessed, but the employment records (both mine and my husband's). Can it be that they check our professional background? Both of us worked in government structures.

And the second question.
-When the CBSA finishes the screening, is there any other step to be done on the part of IRCC? If now the eligibility and criminality are passed, can they resume reviewing them?
I am just asking to know the IRCC's potential actions and to understand the time-frame.

You have to understand that partner agencies like CBSA / CSIS / RCMP only give their findings to IRCC. It is IRCC that makes a determination based on the report.

The work reference letters and your employment is part of eligibility, which is check by IRCC, and not CBSA. However, if there are and concerns about document fraud, then it may be referred to a partner agency to further investigate who specialise in this field.

After CBSA has finished its involvement, the report is sent to IRCC, and based on that IRCC will make a final determination whether an applicant is inadmissible for security / Human rights violations grounds, if not, then a final review will be done a decision will be made.

This also means that we are unable to provide accurate processing times on individual applications at this time. As a result, we have removed the progress bar in the online account of Economic Class – Federal Skilled Workers (EE) clients. You can still get the most current information about the status of your Economic Class – Federal Skilled Workers (EE) application by checking the ‘Details about application status’ section in your online account.

However I still see progress bar in my application.

First of all, you need to put your entire question, what kind of sponsorship it it, how is Manitoba related to your family sponsorship?

If you just post a random question and expect someone to respond, no one can.

First of all thanks for your reply.

My first cousin is living in Manitoba and she was agree to providing support me to obtain Manitoba state sponsorship and we have done all paper works with Manitoba to obtain state sponsorship.

That part has been completed in 2019 and i had received Manitoba sponsorship, after that i had put up my PNP PR (Paper) application on 08/10/2019 and in due course my status are as below according to GCMS note on the date of 04/11/2020 :

Eligibility : Passed
Criminality : Passed
Info Sharing : Completed
Security : Not Started
Medical : Not started

In recent talk with my first cousin she said she gonna move from Manitoba to Ontario in May 2021.

My question is that, if she moved from Manitoba will that effect on my PR process ?
