Hello Everyone. I am new to this forum and would like to know how will I be notified on my citizenship application. I submitted application via post on 18 Nov2020.

will i be notified via mail by post or via email?

Do i have to register for any email update ? like linking my application?

Track your application status using the Client Application Status.

Your notification will be via your correspondence preference in your account. You can specify/update your preference using the IRCC Webform .

You can also call IRCC on 888-242-2100 and speak to an agent about your application (use menu options 1-1-4-1).

Unfortunately, you cannot link the citizenship grant application to your IRCC account - unlike the PR application.

Location: Calgary
Application type: Family ( 1 adult, 2 kids)
Physical presence days: 1300
App sent date: Nov 18 2020
App delivered date: Nov 23, 2020

For me and my son it was all ok, unfortunately they returned all our application today due to my daughter's school education records only. Could anyone please help me with all of my questions before resending the application.

Q1. Will they refund me even though I haven't requested a refund 'coz I want to resend our application asap? (The reason I don't want them to refund it because when I applied last November my son were still 17, since it took 3 months, he is now 18 - so I don't want to pay $630 instead of $100 only).

Q2. Returned application came stapled in 3 sets, do I need to remove the staples and replace it with paper clips?

Q3. Same thing with the photos, came sealed with plastics and stuck on the paper, do I need to remove it and just use paper clips?

My mistake, I did not put everything for the last 5 years of education since she's below 14.

Now I'm confused. I also applied for my children but did not include any school education records. If you used it for the two pieces of personal identification required, you could have provided an additional copy of the passport page and health card. That is what I did at least.

Sorry to hear it was returned , but for minor , school record was used as an ID and it was missing ? As they just need picture ID and school record for minors irrespective of period

You are required to send copies of school education records if the child is below 14 years. I did that for my son, I sent a copy of his school report cards for past years that clearly has his school name and student id. It worked.

Sorry to heard that. I don't understand why they need your daughter's School records?.
Did you sent identity documents (2-copies of the biographical page of the passport, health card)?

I sent mine November 18 too and haven't received anything yet.
