Ok Guys, My situation is different than most of everyone from this Forum. I had used this forum for past one year to post queries and watch the latest updates and different process every has gone through. I am posting my experience now. Below are the details ;

- Myself(Principle Applicant) living in Canada & Family in India
- PR Approved prior to March 18,2020, however COPR got expired for all of us due to COVID-19 Travel Restriction.
- After hell lot of follow up, Finally got the remedical request for my wife in Dec,2020 and the same has done and passed in the same month.
- Jan 11th , I received AL only for my wife & daughter alone.
- But as a primary applicant my PR did not validated so, i was worried what will happen if they travel with AL ,but primary applicant did not landing .

But Finally, I received 3 email (one for each) stating that below info. I am very happy that now i am officially PR of Canada. I will be sending my photo to the address they mentioned and will get the PR card soon hopefully. Now i am planning to push my family travel with current date as i dont feel is now very much need as we all validated with PR. I will apply the PR card for them as well and i will go home when situation resolved and will bring them back.
The only thing i have to get it confirmed that what would be the process if they outside of Canada now. they asked send email in case if we are out side of Canada. So i probably will get calrified that alone. Thanks everyone for your help so far in the forum.

Hi all,
This group and its members have helped me a lot.Thanks.

Sharing my experience if it could help anyone.I sent RTT form in November 2020 but got no response until on 31st December I got AL.
I booked Emirates flight for 27th Jan 2021 via Dubai to Toronto.
I took my Expired copr,AL,Arrivecan,PCR test results. These were asked at both immigration counters in India and Toronto_Overall it was very smooth and no questions were asked apart this.

To all my fellow group members dont stress.I also quit my job last year to migrate to canada. Then I joined another company as the situation was so unpredictable. Then I quit again to travel. It has been a long journey with lots of emotional stress.
Don't worry hang in there.Your time will come.

Please ask me if you have any doubts I will be happy to help if I can.
Hi JNP,

Just wanted to check with you, if the 3-day 2000 CAD quarantine is mandatory ? One of my friend is planning to book tickets, wondering how long will this 3-day expensive quarantine will go on.

TIA

Is there anyone else who does not have any progress on their expired COPR. My COPR expired on April 2020, I've sent the ready to travel web forms, proactively sent the four questions' answers since I did not get the four pointer mail, but the only response I got was we are processing your application. I have had no ghost updates on my profile, no request for re medical. I am seriously getting worried now since it's almost a year now that my travel plans have cancelled.

Please can you help explain the meaning of AL. I also need clarification on this new travel restrictions. Can’t imagine paying 2k dollars for 3 days just to quarantine , that’s like 10k for a family of 5. Please can someone help explain what can be done to extend your visa for at least 1 year. Mine will expire in May . Thanks
AL is Authorisation Letter to travel with expired CoPR and PRV. As per new restrictions which will be forced in coming days all travellers coming to Canada need to go through mandatory CoVID test at port of entry and need to quarantine at govt approved hotel for 3 days at their own expenses till the CoVID results come out.

One could argue about hotel charges but prior to that one should wait when these new restrictions are gonna be implemented in near future.

This rule was published on 29th January. No clarification if it is mandatory or they are just planning to implement it soon.As per my knowledge it is not finalized so better travel asap.

Hi we are from Kochi too. But did not receive any updates yet. I have few questions
1. Did you proactively do your remedicals.
2. Is Emirates allowing to board the flight from Kochi to Canada? As India is still on bubble agreement. We had booked our first flight with Emirates and our tickets are still open. So wanted to know when we get our AL will we able to travel through Emirates.
3. In Dubai did u have to do any Covid test?.
Kindly share your experiences

I'm in the same boat as you, CoPR expired in April 2020 and i have sent 2-3 web forms informing them that we are ready to travel but i only got the generic response that they are working on processing it. No ghost updates, no AL, no request for re-med, nothing at all. I don't know how they are processing the applications, as a lot of people seem to have gotten their extensions/AL's, yet there are people like us who haven't even had a single update

Hi All,

I wanted to ask regarding the PCR test required for Canada, it should be within 72hours of my first point of departure or 72hours from my flight that will take off for Canada. There is a gap of almost 20hours between my first flight and the flight that will take off for Canada.

It is just when u departure to ur final destination, the time supposed to be within 72 and not when u landed

It has to be less than 72 hours before you depart to Canada make sure you do it only day before you go if possible...

Short question. After submitting the documents, how long does it take for IRCC to issue the authorization letter?
