Mid - late 2019 applicants are just now getting test invites. So, yeah, you can calculate the timeline from that (check the trackers in my signature). There are delays and the backlog is not going anywhere unless IRCC starts issuing bulk test invites AND conducts a large volume of oath ceremonies.

I want to say that I read somewhere that it varies from province to province (For example, I read that Quebec had halted all online testing, but this is merely a rumour that I read on this forum, so take with appropriate grain of salt.)

I filed my citizenship back in September 2019 and had my test scheduled for and subsequently cancelled in March of 2020 (In Quebec) and haven't heard anything since then. Very dispiriting.

I really hope it’s just a rumor. Ive noticed that some ppl from Montreal have received their online test invite, but it seems like the montreal office is moving waaayyy slower than others and not in the order they received the applications as some people from November and December already got their test invites while we site here and wait for ours.

Yes its not true. 2 days back one candidate received test invite from montreal.

Thanks for the clarification. Guess it's just a completely random grab bag of who gets lucky and who doesn't. I wonder if the person applied in French or English.

I called the IRCC today to get an update on my file (Sep 2019 applicant). I was told I should expect a test invite in the next few days or weeks max.

Unfortunately I lost my PR card a while ago and I am waiting for a replacement card to be issued. I was so excited to hear that my application was moving slowly but surely forward that I forgot to ask what will happen if I do not have my replacement PR card in time for the test and oath.

Does anyone here know if I will need my PR card on either of these remaining matters? I want to know if I need to expect to apply for an extension as I wait indefinitely for my replacement PR card. I am assuming I will need to cut it up in front of the camera or mail it in, or present it somehow. But maybe it isn’t a required document?

You're one of the lucky ones. I just got off the phone with IRCC and they said I wasn't listed as getting the test anytime soon, unfortunately, so mine could be next week or it could be next year. Regarding your PR card, I wouldn't chance it - I would call IRCC back and ask; my hold time just now was around 30-35 minutes.
