The entire amount for my pof is gifted by my dad via a fixed deposit and I have submitted a gift affidavit for this.
In case if the amount falls short due to currency fluctuation and if ircc request for additional amount transfer, Can I top-up my fixed deposit account and submit a new affidavit only for the extra amount? Pls advice @legalfalcon

PS: I have posted the same on your FB page, Please omit if replied here
IRCC has clarified:

It is as on the date of submission. If your PoF falls below, the office will contact you and you can add more funds.

@legalfalcon Thanks for your response. I did the upfront medical exam and they gave me the e-Medical Information Sheet, but the clinic did a typo mistake when they entered the date of expiration of my passport, instead of typing 25, they typed 28. I explained what happened and that it was a typo mistake and I included a copy of my passport (which they already have) to show them the correct expiry date.
Will that explanation be enough to convince them or they might they reject my medical test due to this typo error?

Appreciate your usual help!
When a medical test is done, the passport is used only to confirm your identity. Any discrepancy in the information such as the expiration date will be confirmed with your passport scan.

It will not impact your medicals. Make sure you inform your panel physician of it, and see if they can change it in the e-Medical record. Also when you submit your application, make sure your explain it in loE,

It is always month and year. It should be clear on the form. Are you filing it online or Sch A?
Hi. I am about to submit my PR application online.

Hi @legalfalcon, can you advise what can you read between the lines from the latest update from IRCC?
Does this mean they will target CEC applications now? What does it mean for CEC applicants from Jan-Aug?

Status of Express Entry applications Last updated: 01-19-2021

  • Canadian experience class
    • We’re working at full capacity to process applications.
      • You may experience delays in processing because we have a backlog of applications due to COVID-19
    • We started processing applications received the week of August 12, 2020.

It only means that IRCC is processing CEC applicants at the normal pace. Currently they are processing applications that were received during the week of August 12, 2020.

Like most applications, some will fall outside the average processing timelines. As we go forward, the pending applications should also be caught up.

1. YEs, you can travel anywhere. You do not have to wait for your PR card.

2. No, there is no such requirement. See https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/new-immigrants/pr-travel-document/eligibility.html

3. No, the only criteria is
Eligibility
You can apply for a permanent resident travel document if you:

  • are a permanent resident,
  • do not have a valid PR card showing your PR status,
  • are outside Canada, and
  • will return to Canada by airplane, boat, train or bus.

When you apply for PRTD, make sure you have enough time, as due to COVID, there are delays.
Hi @legalfalcon

Many thanks for the responses. It really helps :)

Meanwhile I was looking into this page from IRCC : https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5529-applying-permanent-resident-travel-document.html

It mentions some Residency Obligations as below while applying for a PRTD, Could you please let me know how these will be determined in case of a new PR(inland) who have not received PR card due to closure of IRCC offices?

If you have been a permanent resident for less than five (5) years
  • you must show that you will be able to meet the minimum of 730 days of physical presence in Canada within five (5) years of the date you became a permanent resident.
Thanks in advance.

As a PR you have to meet the 730 days of physical presence in Canada within five (5) years. This is given, but there is no documentary evidence that is required. This is for people who have been outside Canada after they became a PR, and haven't returned and even if they do return, they will be unable to meet the requirement.

Hello @legalfalcon ,

Thank you for your all help and support.

Alberta PNP Paper Application with one dependent.
AR: 29th June 2020
AOR: 20th January 2021

My question is, I am also a CEC applicant and my eligibility is recommended passed already. Of course, the CEC application will be processed much faster than PNP paper. Should I withdraw my paper application or it will be cancelled automatically once I get an approval from CEC?

Thanks!

Dear @legalfalcon

I had received instructions from Delhi immigration on 7th November 2020 to submit mine and my dependents' passports for permanent residence visa stamping. I renewed my daughters' passports post receiving passport request.

I had sent my passport along with my daughters' renewed passports and a letter of explanation mentioning that their new passports are being sent to Delhi Immigration through VFS 2-way courier services which were received by IRCC on 9th December 2020.

Our passports and photographs were returned without stamping on 15th Jan 2021. We have not received any instructions in the returned envelope nor in the GC key account. Contacted VFS and they had no clue. Tried contacting IRCC but no response.

I contacted IRCC on their contact number (1-888-242-2100) and confirmed what could be the reason. They mentioned that the file is with NDVO and they can not give any information. However, upon asking they confirmed that my medicals are valid until 30 April 2021.

I am contemplating resending the passports to Delhi immigration along with old and new passports this time. It would be kind of you to please provide me the advice in this particular scenario.

many thanks

Yes, any movement is a good sign and Sch A is requested when the info sharing and security has started or about to start.

@legalfalcon My GCMS notes show that information sharing is complete & security valid. My status is Ready For Approval Then why are they asking for resubmission of Sch A . Can you please give some insights in my GCMS notes.
Criminality is usually based on your PCCs and is done along with R10. Only if your biometrics are pending and a PCC is pending, usually for inland applicants, your criminality will continue to pending while the processing continues.
No @legalfalcon.... In Gcms it says Ready for Approval since 26th May 2020.

How can I post pics on the thread... I want tk share certain pages of Gcms with you

I received my AL today after remeds. My copr was issued before 18th march. My AL mentioned all details correctly, but my expired document number is not as in my expired copr. Should it be a problem?

I will fly from india.

Hi @legalfalcon
I‘ve submitted my PR application in early January, which is under Express Entry through PNP, the provincial nominee program is issued by Nova Scotia Experience-Express Entry, no specific employer needed.
I'm planning to go back to my home county for two or three months, I'll return to Canada with a job offer to wait for the bio letter and further approval.
Will it impact my application?
Many thanks!

When you say you will return with a job offer, you mean you already have one and are on WP?

Are you referring to the expired COPR or passport?

IF you are referring to COPR, you need not worry, when you land in Canada, you will have to ask the CBSA officer who examines you at the PoE to print a new COPR for you. You will need a valid COPR to obtain your SIN, however, you can travel with the expired COPR and AL.
