I already received gcms notes twice, without giving them any proof of residence. So i think you are good.

@legalfalcon I just realized I may have made a mistake when applying for my gcms note. I am in Canada and I applied for myself. AOR-June 17th, applied for the notes on December 23rd, 2020. Will they ask for the document to prove I am in Canada when its a month (ie jAN 23RD 2020)?

IRCC may, which can also be confirmed from your status in Canada and is also available in the GCMS notes you requested. Only if IRCC is unable to ascertain your right of access under the Privacy Act, they can ask for documents/

Right of access

• 12 (1) Subject to this Act, every individual who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident within the meaning of subsection 2(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act has a right to and shall, on request, be given access to
  • (a) any personal information about the individual contained in a personal information bank; and
  • (b) any other personal information about the individual under the control of a government institution with respect to which the individual is able to provide sufficiently specific information on the location of the information as to render it reasonably retrievable by the government institution.

When requesting under either Access to Information Act or Privacy Act, the federal institution has to ensure that the requester has the right to make a request under the respective Act. In Glaxo Canada Inc. v. Canada (Minister of National Health and Welfare), [1990] 1 F.C. 652 (T.D.); affirmed (1990), 113 N.R. 399 (F.C.A) the Federal Court ordered that information not be released to a requester as there was no evidence that the requester was properly qualified to apply under the Act.

There are numerous ways how a requestor's right to access can be verified, easiest being by the submitted documents. If the documents are not submitted, and no other means of verification exists, the federal institution can ask for more documents, and if none are provided, then the information can be refused.

I am not sure about others and I saw all the comments below too.But, I applied the GCMS note without providing documents to prove my residency in Canada. And I received the notes.

If your situation hasn't changed like:
* marital status
* language assessment
* losing the job offer
* this happens very seldom: sometimes when the officer make some changes to work experience (changing working hours to part-time or sth like that)
and a few other ...

You don't need to be worried.
When you called IRCC agents what did they told you about eligibility? if it is passed conclusively I believe you are good.

Hello! Thank you for the reply. No. I still have the same job, the same marital status. But the last time I called the IRCC, the VO told me that criminality & security is still on process while my representative in the immigration agency told me that I passed the criminality & security. That's why I am confused.

Did you have any clause in your agreement with your representative that you cannot contact IRCC regarding your application? i have in mine and i havent contacted IRCC yet. AOR is June 17th. Will it be of any negative impact on my application if I contact IRCC? Please let me know of your experience. Anyne who has any experience like this, please let me know too. TIA!

Hi Guys, saw approval on my account yesterday. No email though. I also saw COPR # and expiry is given 6 months from now. No Copr document yet.

AOR: June 20
Bio req & med: Aug11
Bio given: Oct 28
dec 3: agent said everything passed( call)
dec 19: same shit( call)
Jan 9: same shit( call)
Jan18: saw approval on account with Copr #.

Anyways I am not happy. I am waiting for SpaceX to leave to Mars.
