@kool_suny yes thats correct. No biometric and passport request. I'm a PR.

@sb0821 listed a set of documents his mother in law had when entering Canada earlier in the thread which is useful.

Yes, submitted bank statement and that they are getting pension in india and need to return.

Got visa approval letter for my mother today. No biometrics needed. So they take around a week after you submit travel itinerary. Visa expiry date is 4/4/2021,which is ok because we can always apply for visa extension. But I don't understand why they put a expiration date on letter ,given the fact that a person can stay upto 6 months without applying for extension. I read someone's post where passport was stamped(at airport on arrival) for 6 months. Also, general rule for TRV is that person can stay upto 6 months.

Thankyou @sb0821 for introducing this new route which I believe helped lot of people here.
Did your mother had given biometrics before? Or now they don't have biometrics requirement for visitors visa?

Thanks for your reply.... it’s very helpful. Let me try my luck with work permit status ..

Can you please share the exact words mentioned on your Letter of Required support ?
I am mentioning as below...

“ Support required during Pregnancy and postpartum”

I am going to get it from my family doctor and my wife’s due date is May 1st week...

if visa is getting approved for only three months.. do you think I should wait for one more month to apply ? Or does extension sound doable once in Canada ?

many many congratulations .. so if visa is granted until 4/4/2021.. I beleive you will not get the option to stay 6 months right. Probably extension need to be applied. But can we apply for extension on a PHAC background approved visa ?
Thankyou. Will see how it goes. It's a TRV, PHAC background shouldn't be a problem. Will find out soon . For now, we are good. Will think about it then. Also they have specifically mentioned in the visa letter, that in case someone wants to extend it,they provided the link as well. I think IRCC is aware that most likely people will file for extension.

Thanks to everyone for so much help through this process!

I applied for PHAC Jan 7
Got my PHAC approval Jan 8

I'm wondering if most of you who received the itinerary request received it automatically; vs did you send an email to IRCC with the PHAC approval? It seems like most people received it automatically.

Would love some input. Thanks again!

If you have received PHAC approval then you can directly send email to IRCC with subject " Covid 19 - PHAC " as title, I have found sending email would speed up your process and save additional days.

Has anyone recently submitted PHAC (Request for Exemption for Compassionate Reasons) form online ,can you let me know what date should we provide for "Expected date of Travel" ?Any tentative date is fine? Wondering if they mention this date as an expected date of travel in the visa letter which is issued?

As I have not booked any tickets for my in-laws what do we need to mention under Port of Entry to Canada/Airport etc which is another set of questions asked in the form?

Received itinerary request today.

PHAC letter states: Validity period - 6 months. Date of issuance 12/16.

Itinerary request states: Departure must occur within 30 days or validity of PHAC approval, whichever is earliest.

1. Does this mean departure needs to be by Jan 15th?
2. Also is validity of 6 months applicable from the date of arrival (1/16) or PHAC issuance date (12/16)
On what basis you have applied for PHAC . I am looking for my father visa application?

in the online application I couldn't find where to upload the insurance proof and what should be filled in the form about CAD for mother if her account doesn't have money as only father have the account and money to show funds.

Also what should we provide as proof that they will go back at the end of visit? Do we need to have flight booked beforehand?

And for proof of financial support for parents, did you provided their bank statements only or any other documents as well?

Really appreciate any guidance on this.

Hello @dsinghd ,

I have a question for you. When CIC asked you for the flight itinerary did they mention anything about the visa validity? I mean did u book your return flight for 4/4/2021 and showed that on the travel itinerary based on which the visa was issued?
Wondering if it is safe to book a return flight for a random date and submit it to CIC? I got the PHAC approval letter today and it says the validity as 1 month.

Thanks in Advance!
