Hi ,
I'm a FSTP applicant and currently hold Bridging open work permit and my PR application is still under process( AOR Dec 05). According to GCMS NOTES the security check not started yet.
My bridging open work permit will expire on may 2021. In worst case scenario if I don't receive the final decision before the expiration of BOWP ,what should I next? Is there is any way to extend BOWP?.
TIA
You will have to file an application to renew the BOWP.

Hi @legalfalcon does sending files to LVO is a bad sign or good sign? Primary visa office: Vancouver and Secondary visa office: Sydney CIO
Eventually all applications will go to LVO. Some go before PPR and the PPR is sent by LVO. For others all processing is done, PPR sent and the files are transferred to LVO.

Either way, it does not matter.

It can be a positive sign if the application has been approved. If the file was not transferred for workload distribution purposes or to validate aspects of the application it can be construed as a positive development.

Thanks, when I called them last Friday they told me that Medical are passed, Criminality and background check is in progress, Eligibility and Security has not started, my biometrics was done on 4th November, I was also asked from ADR: RCMP fingerprints and IMM 5406 that I have already submitted in October.
The status is still: We are reviewing the additional documents that you have provided since almost a month.

Not to worry if you have submitted the requested documents. The important thing you mentioned, Eligibility has not started yet? Is that correct

If you can get the passport renewed now, get it done. You will get a max validity for PRV and COPR with a renewed PP, you won't have to worry about getting it renewed later and getting a passport renewed has no bearing on the processing of an application. After your get a renewed passport, send a scan of the biometric pages to IRCC via webform.
Great Thanks!
So,can we still travel with his stamped PP with a validity less than 3 months and without getting renewed?

Yes, i have called them almost every week since end of October, they said Eligibility and Security not started. I already ordered my GCMS notes on 22nd Oct, have not received yet. Is that normal?

Normally 1 to 1.5 months from AOR it takes for Completeness Check (R10), Medical (MEP) & Biometric (BIL) and usually Eligibility Review is completed by 4-5 months post AOR. Security will only start after Eligibility is passed by an officer. Your application must be in the early innings of the process then. Hopefully you receive the GCMS file soon and it will give a clearer picture on the status.

No. As per IRCC:

Expiring passports
You must have a valid passport to come to Canada.

If your passport expires within 6 months from the day you apply, you should renew it. Then, when you get your new passport, update your passport information in your application. This will ensure it’s valid when we process your application and avoid additional delays.

First of all thank you @legalfalcon for your guidance on the forum. I have benefited a lot from your responses. Big THANK YOU!

I have a small query where I need your opinion, as I am not able to predict it myself -

AOR 29 May 2020 | CEC INLAND | RCMP was requested -> Uploaded -> Reviewed and current status is N/A on MyCIC | Biometrics completed Oct 14th

I have not yet requested GCMS and will be doing that based on your responses. I know CEC is taking 7 months (I am touching 6 months on Nov 29th) on an average recently based on your posts and I am patiently waiting for the final result :) . I have raised two webforms - first response Oct 7 and second Nov 18th . I have the following responses from both webforms. I am slightly confused with "Criminality In Progress" from older webform to "Criminality not started" in today's response. Just FYI - I have no criminal background. Would you please be able to provide your insights where my application is at if possible ?? -

Webform response Oct 7th -

We verified the information on file and can confirm that:
  • The eligibility verification is currently valid.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is in process.
Webform response Nov 18th -

We verified the information on file and can confirm that:
  • The background verifications are currently valid.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification has not been initiated.
Furthermore, we verified the information on file and can confirm that your application is currently at the
Case Processing Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, for processing.

Thank you in advance!

Is your Eligibility passed by an officer? It will look something like this. Most security checks are done within 1 month; longer up to 1 to 2 years if in enhanced screening.

Thanks for replying.
Mine looks in belows.
Eligibility passed on October 6.
Called IRCC on November 13, told me security not started yet.
Is it normal?
