Hi I have PR and had to leave Canada in March 19 as lost jobs and staff accom due to Covid. In UK but considering returning to Canada to pick up seasonal ski town work, have had a few interviews. Any advice? I realise I will have to quarantine for 14 days.

I suppose I am asking about life in Covid in Canada at the moment - are jobs stable and does it feel as though you still have a decent life there? I'm worried about the likelihood of ski places closing and weighing up if it's worth taking that risk for a better life than UK offers under Boris!

COVID-19 cases are on the increase. Not as badly as in Europe, however they are going up and some locations have put restrictions back in place for certain activites (e.g. Ontario closed down gyms, movie theatres and indoor dinning in restaurants a few weeks ago). IMO it's going to be a while before the job market is going to be stable anywhere in the world. You haven't said exactly where you aim to be working. Best you can do is keep reading daily about the COVID-19 cases there and what action that province or municipality is taking or may take (you can easily find this through googling). As for the ski seaon - who knows at thsi point. That's the honest answer. Way too many unknowns. I'm not sure how to answer the question about a decent life because so many things are far from normal right now. I guess I would say it's OK considering everything.Hi thanks for swift reply Scylla. Thank you for that pretty sound advice, true about instability everywhere and 'way too many unknowns' is probably spot on.
I'm looking at BC or possibly Alberta -from Nov 2 you can elect to do their new covid test/48 hour quarantine scheme, as that could lessen impact of not working for 14 days. It's just difficult to imagine how different things are there now so I really appreciate your summary. Obviously my PR clock is ticking away so that is a consideration too.

Spring 2018, worked for 10 months before covid. I think I have to do 2 years to renew, 3 for citizenship.

Alberta also has a much higher unemployment rate. Would make sure housing is part of any ski contract. Many resort towns will have less skiers due to no tourism. That's interesting about the unemployment, it's also not good in UK at all. Thanks for tip about housing, definitely worth remembering and the ski jobs may be worth re-considering.
