I called IRCC now and the agent said she cannot reveal any information regarding my application as I am the sponsor and not a representative or principal applicant.
She sent me a webform for representatives which needs to be filled by both SA and PA and will be linked to the application in about 5 days. Only then I can access information on my application.
Application was received by IRCC on 2nd July 2020

Did any of you guys who called IRCC had to go through the same? Is there a way around this?
You have the right know it was recieved and whether you were approved for sponsorship. Not sure why they said that.

Not correct, UNLESS the sponsor has been designated as representative by the PA they are not allowed to communicate with IRCC regarding the app. Despite the sponsor being very involved in the process the app is for the PA not the sponsor.

I was told the same thing from a woman who answered as I didn’t fill out the form and my husband was the PA. She did supply general info though. The only other time I called I got a guy and he just told me what I wanted to know anyways. (Well I should say I answered my own question as he wasn’t particularly helpful)

Hi

I am new to this thread so excuse me if my questions are repetitive in this forum:

I am in Canada since July 2020 as PR and I am planning to go to India in Dec to meet my family and help my wife to prepare all the documents for spousal Sponsorship. I am planning to come back to Canada in Jan / Feb 2021( max 2 months in India) . Upon return, I am planning to mail the documents.

Will be there be any questions on my trip to India ? Although I am planning to file the application only after returning to Canada, just want to check whether it has any implications.

I am working in Canada and when I go to India , will continue to work remotely.

Thanks for your time

I don't think there would be any problem because you are going to India temporary. You can call IRCC and confirm if there is any problem in doing this.

Thank you for your response. I called IRCC and they said temporary stay back and forth before and after filing the application will not have any implications.

Prior to filing being away for a couple months not a problem. After filing you should limit your time away for 2-3 weeks at a time but I am not saying you can do it 2-3 weeks every month or couple months. Have to continue to reside in Canada through the process.
