Some of the documents I uploaded were provided to me in black and white, including black and white stamp and signatures. My work reference letter and bank letter, for example.

It is important to note that this was when people were working in isolation or at home and told me that they only have a black and white scanner or printer. It is hardly possible for me to badger people to go out and get me coloured versions of things at such a time when everyone is trying to work with limited resources. The problem is I forgot to blame covid for this situation in my letter of explanation as I did not realise it is mandatory to upload coloured scans of anything other than PCCs. It seems to me though that the issue with not uploading coloured scans is that the IRCC officer may wonder if the scans are of the original or of a photocopy.

What should I do in this case. Should I be uploading an explanation via CSE or am I worrying too much? Thanks for any advice!

Only PCCs are required to be scanned in color, rest of the documents can be black and white. There is no such requirement that all documents need to be scanned in color.

Yes, I thought the same. However, there seems to be a general understanding that unless the scans are in colour, the IRCC officer has no way to tell if it's a scan of the original or not. Hence the worry.

Yes all scanned document (except PCC) are fine with B&W. Only the stamp in the translation form (if you have) needs color.

I have stamps in the bank letter and the employment reference letter but in black ink. Everything is in English already though.

You’re overthinking it honestly
Yeah, to be honest, I think I am going crazy. My application is review required, I believe. Mine is considered a complex application to begin with for many reasons, hence the excessive worrying. On some facebook groups, I have lately seen applicants post about their rejections for the stupidest of reasons. What I don' like is that many rejections are for reasons where ircc could've easily asked for an adr, but it didn't. For e.g., not uploading a scan of ielts or the eca, which is not even requested. Since they often seem to penalize people for not providing the things they don't ask for, I spend all my time these days obsessing over all the vague things that could possibly go wrong. But you are right, I think I should wait and not give them yet another LoE to read. They have ample things in my application to be overwhelmed by already. Ideally, an application should be simple and straightforward, but alas.

What's the reason for the review required?

I believe it is stat questions. However, I am aware it is an otherwise complex application too. So I am hoping it's nothing else but I don't know. Ordered gcms notes.

A lot of applicant have review required because it was a comment from a program assistant or case analyst. Just calm down.
