Hey @Nishm14, @Canaspirant xyz @kanugln3Hi everyone, I am just like you in a similar situation. My husband and I were supposed to travel on 23rd march this year but we could not due to the lockdown and our COPR expired in April. We have raised multiple web forms since then, ready to travel forms and have tried taking help from my brother who is a Canadian citizen. Unfortunately, we are stuck in our home countries with no jobs, savings going down the drain and no hope to hear back from the New Delhi visa office which not only worsens our anxiety everyday but also frustrates us towards the casual attitude of NDVO. I read people talking about the 4 point email and CIC account status changing but for us, nothing has changed except that we are extremely depressed. If you are reading this and you think you have a solution for this, please help.
I can totally understand and relate to your situation. I am in the same boat, while I agree that things have slowed down, it is the IRCC's responsibility to give us an answer. If this situation was the other way around, IRCC will reject our applications or ask us for 101 justifications for a small error in our documentation or application but in these circumstances they have failed to provide us answers and am starting to loose trust. As applicants, I am sure most of us have been rational in dealing with this situation but I guess IRCC does not care about that. All the optimism is good in this forum, but its not growing any fruit. But I really appreciate each one of us supporting each other here.
I can't find a job here in India, because the job market has taken a big dip and going by IMF and WB, things will be worse in the coming days. Thankfully, I also do some freelance work through which I earn enough to pay bills. I saved for 3 years to have POF in my account. I have retired parents here in India to take care off and pinned my hopes in getting a descent job in Canada to start of with. My apologies for sharing my thoughts here as all my relatives and friends have started taunting me for making this decision to move to another country. They can go s#@k it.
Maybe IRCC and NDVO are not competent enough to handle this unprecedented situation. In fact, I have started paying $600 rent to my roommate in Canada while I am still here in India UNEMPLOYED. All this to fulfill lease agreement and proactively submitted Plan for quarantine and other doc requirements to IRCC and raised multiple webforms. They respond through their call centers in China/Ottawa with Generic responses. No matter how much we outpour emotions on forums such as this, Its a only a pacifier than actual results. You go to Immigration consultants for help and they will try ripping you off.
In Conclusion, all we can do is just wait for IRCC to respond to each one of us.
Fingers crossed!
