Application Received: Feb 12
AOR : Feb 20
Biometrics: March 10
Medical Submitted : March 18
Decision Letter to Sponsor Spouse: March 24
Pre Arrival Service Letter: Feb 24

Congrats... here is what i found on cic Twitter... see the attached image to the tweet. i think you can make your travel plans based on cic travel guidelines. Spouses are considered immediate family members and dont need any special authorization. Just make sure you have a quarantine plan and follow other general covid guidelines. Can you share an image of the letter you got explaining the covid restrictions

Thanks for this info! I appreciate it! I can't figure out how to attach a picture here, but the information on the letter is the same as what I have found on the internet, nothing new or different.

We applied paper based but once they give you the A0R1 your application is then put online. Around when did you hand in your file if it’s around the same time as us you should be getting yours soon. Some people have already had theirs done in March I know it can be depressing watching everyone else go through steps and your at a stand still but once you do your biometrics within 3 weeks you should get your medical request forms should. I’m not expert it’s just how our file is processing. Hopefully you can get yours done too very soon and we all can be reunited with our loved ones quickly. Best of luck to you

Guys,

I have applied family reunification on Feb 2020 from Canada(Province: Quebec) to my wife & son in India since I am a Canadian PR. Now I have a feeling that entire PR process will take at-least 6-12 months from now to complete since application moved to NDVO now and VFS offices in India are closed without exact timeline.

So in the meantime, I am planning to apply for Visitor Visa for my wife & son. Please share your thoughts if this is a good idea.

And To apply for Visitor Visa,
1) Can my wife use the biometric which she has taken for PR ?
2) Is medical really required?
3) What about the processing time for visitor visa now?

Awesome some glimmer of hope! We have a very similar timeline. But mine has dispatched to Mississauga before the pandemic. No new news since. Looks like Ottawa is the new Mississauga in terms of speed.

Can I get his medicals done without his name on the form?

Two separate forms. They won't do the medical without it. Is your son here? Or are you sponsoring him. If he's here he doesn't need a medical.

No, he is not with me.. Not sure if calling CIC can help get the form for my son.
