Hello everybody
Can you please help me with a question. I got biometric done last year and my file was move to Mexico last year Dec and I haven’t heard anything back. My husband is from Guyana. I read that some ppl are sending them messages to get PPR saying they gonna pay for the shipping. Should I do the same? Or wait. He hasn’t got medical request yet. The process is taking so long. Our one year will be up next month the 15.
Any help with greatly appreciated
Wait most of members who send email to get paid for shipping were members who had all done now including medicals, you still need to wait until they ask medical request

im in a group of Facebook since June we submitted an application to House of Commons petition was tabled today let’s wait now ,don’t bother to write him... my group sent 63,000 letters emails he ignore us waste of time despite he having a family

... *sigh* Hope the situation will be understood cause it's NONE SENSE.

I was just going to post this but see you have the link here. Here is the news release if anyone is interested. The problem is as I see it, that it is only for the inland applicants, not outland. Inland is already being dealt with faster than we outland are, so what the hell?!

"News release
September 24, 2020—Ottawa—
Today, the Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, is announcing action to speed up spousal application processing and help families build their lives together in Canada.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has increased the number of decision makers on spousal applications in Canada by 66%, to process spousal applications more quickly and reduce couples’ wait times.

IRCC is leveraging new technology in a pilot to digitize paper applications so they can be processed more efficiently by IRCC employees working remotely and at various worksites. In addition to implementing facilitative biometrics measures, IRCC will be piloting, in the upcoming weeks, technology to conduct interviews with applicants remotely, in adherence with public health protocols.

With these initiatives, IRCC aims to accelerate, prioritize and finalize approximately 6,000 spousal applications each month from October until December 2020. Combined with processing to date, this rate will lead to about 49,000 decisions by the end of this year.

COVID-19 has created uncertainty for Canadians who are sponsoring spouses for permanent residence. We will continue to search for innovative and compassionate ways to reunite families, while following the advice of our public health experts to protect the health and safety of Canadians."

I do not think its inland alone its both because they use the term reunite.Inland means that the applicant and sponsor is in Canada.

That is what i did i request for an extension they usually give a 6 mth extension
We got a 1 year extension. Originally done March 2019. Extended til April 2021

Yes, they do and, yes, they are both in Canada on a inland application. However, you note that they also say they have increased the number of decision makers, etc. in Canada, not overseas where our outland applications are processed. Our applications only start in Canada and then are sent to local VOs. So...???

OK, that's great. It would have been nice if they actually said that though so that everyone understood what they meant. Or do they mean that those decision makers will process the outland applications while they are in Canada. Those are already processed quite quickly, it's when they go to the overseas VOs that they tend to bog down and stagnate!

How did you confirm it?
