They are more focussed on collecting money to pay local population who are unemployed, and immigrants are best source of risk free income with no right of return and accountability. I have yet to see them miss any draw or them inviting less people so that they can accommodate the low working capacity. But here stakes are involved so here they do draws and get immigrants to apply and take money and then put them in waiting queue. Smart move

That's why I suggested protesting but none of you have taken it seriously. Let's start with social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc...) with a hashtag: such as "#waiveinlandbiometrics" or #openbiometricsinservicecanada"

Hahahaha if we give them trouble they will just refuse our application we are at their mercy because we want permanent residency of THEIR country.. so Idk if protesting is a good idea
Anyways they have taken money so they won’t care while refusing everyone who protests. No doubts I see people not wanting To invest here because processes and people here are laid back and no one likes efficiency

I applied for my PR through my lawyer. My lawyer submitted my application(paper application) on the 29th of June. I receive an official letter (BIOMETRIC INSTRUCTION LETTER) via my lawyer from IRCC today (10th of Sept, 2020). The letter requested for me to do my BIOMETRIC at any service Canada location.
Fortunately, the Service Canada in the area is open to the public. However, they do not process biometric. I went there in person and their employee confirms this information with me. On the IRCC website, the Service Canada in my area is NOT on the list of SERVICE CANADA that does biometrics.
The area I live in is a rural area and there is no much immigrant here. I am guessing that might explain why they do NOT have the biometric facility in my area at Service Canada.( IT IS MY ASSUMPTION. I am not sure)).
I was told by Service Canada in my area that if I wish to proceed with my biometrics, I will have to travel to a bigger city where Service Canada does biometric.
The bigger city that does biometric close to my area is very far. it is about 4 hrs drive. I do not drive and considering pandemic, which makes travel difficult via public transport as public transport is almost non-existent in my area that travels to bigger cities.

By the time Service Canada resume service to the public all across all provinces, I will like to know exactly what I can do to overcome this challenge. I am considering doing my biometric at the police station in my area. I think they do biometric but I am not 100% sure if it for immigration purposes.

My question to you will be, what will you do if you were in my position?
I just want to ensure that the issue of bimetric does not slow down the progress of my application and also, I know what to do to get my biometrics.

Your only option is to book an appointment with one of the Service Canada location that offers biometric services whenever they resume operation. You can’t give biometrics at a police station, you have to take that trip no matter how far from your location it is.
About biometrics slowing down your application, you aren’t the only one, a lot of people in this forum are facing the same issue. I applied since mid March and the only thing delaying my app from getting approved is biometrics. IRCC will keep processing your application without biometrics. So take a seat, relax and enjoy the long ride.
If i was in your position..I would tell the "bigger city" name where is doing biometric..if i need to drive 4 hrs i would do it..please tell us the bigger city name. Thank you
I’m sure the bigger city hasn’t started accepting biometrics appointment. The delay is affecting all Service Canada locations across Canada. So please don’t take that long drive yet
Finally New update from service Canada That they will reach out to applicants individually to schedule appointment... so just wait. It seems like they will do it on the basis of date of application.
when you call IRCC you can hear this message so This one sounds more promising with ur date seems like you may have something sooner
They haven't updated their web portals or put out a press release to that effect. Sounds like no change until then.
Any July AOR folks see your status in IP2 stage? My status is showing "background check in progress". Does that mean I am on IP2 so fast? It doesn't make sense, hence checking please.

It says that Service Canada is calling in-Canada applicants to make biometric appointments, and that these calls are made in the order of when your application was received. Finally some good news after SO LONG!
