Hope cic will cancel biometric
I dont think so when called IRCC yesterday the agent specially mentioned to me that we arent exempting PR applicants from requesting BIL,any process related to it will be pending until Service canada gets into access for fingerprints.Meanwhile the rest of the application process will be continued..

agents generally are unprepared and have no sense in what they are telling atleast with my experience. I have seen conflicting responses where in my GCMS notes something was mentioned as cleared and agent told me its yet to start. So their words cannot be trusted at all.

Whether they waive it or open Service canada, it will be not so soon for sure. I was planing to apply for college but without PR it is not possible. It seems I ll miss my chance for September. They are stealing our time and life. This is so frustrating.

Honestly speaking I have never seen such a pathetic govt agency , they cannot decide in 5 months what will they do on biometrics and they keep marketing that PR is done in 6 months. On top of that the marketing agencies including consultants say get PR in 6 months. Somewhere in bottom they will put caveat that it may take more time as well.

For years and years, there was no requirement to give biometrics for inland PR applicants. It just started last December - and had to be shut down in 3 months because of service disruptions. Then? No explanation whatsoever for 5 months. Just a few tweets saying "wait."

5 MONTHS! Not a single word, only "until further notice" crap. Do they realize many people have life-changing plans depending on these applications? Or do they believe since we are already in Canada, it is no problem for us to wait for months without any info? Work plans, study plans, family plans. Everything is on pause. Why? There is no even an answer to that.

All of us already gave our biometrics for previous permits. They have it all. We are probably the most suitable group for an exemption, yet, we are the ones who have to wait without any explanation. It is driving me nuts, seriously.

Bars, clubs, buses full of people next to each other, train rides, people working in a room all together. All done, all good. Striptease clubs are open for Pete's sake. Pressing our damn fingers to a device and taking our photos? Nope. Virus. Pandemic. Wait. "Until further notice."

Enough is enough, really.

I'm getting very frustrated also. I was organised and applied with plenty of time to have everything sorted so I didn't need to submit a BOWP application too but I've now had to. No movement on that either despite biometrics being exempt. I only have a few weeks left on my current work permit and it is very stressful. I accept that because it is a global pandemic afterall, but throughout all this there is no update to the biometrics issue.

I absolutely empathize with slower times and the pandemic causing issues, but 5 months with no information and no decision to exempt inland applicants from biometrics too, or acknowledge that the huge backlog from this when biometrics do open is going to be massively problematic to get an appointment (it was hard enough anyway to get an appointment that wasn't over a month out before the pandemic) is very stressful. I wish they could provide a tentative date, the longer they wait the worse it will be because more and more people will be waiting to get an appointment. No doubt the health and safety protocols that they will need to put in place (rightly so) will mean less appointments per day too, dragging this out even further.

I think someone needs to make the decision to make an exemption for biometrics or people will be in infinite limbo.

I’m feeling so sad that so many things in my life have been on pause because of this thing. I don’t know how to deal with this sadness and how to be patient..
