Hi,
My employer will apply LMIA for me in this month. I want to know when the employer applies for dual intent, what kind of work permit will I get. Is it open work permit or closed work permit for 2 years?

It will be a closed work permit. A dual intent LMIA means you can use the LMIA for both immigration purposes and to obtain a work permit. However the work permit will certainly be a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.
Actually, there is. This is the common term used to refer to LMIAs that can be used for both immigration purposes (to get 50 job offer points through Express Entry), as well as also allowing you to apply for a work permit.

Thank you for your information. Just wanted to make sure do I need to have an application for pr submitted to apply for Dual intent LMIA.
Actually my pwgp is about to expire soon so I just wanted to extend my work permit since my employer is willing to sponsor and also I don't want to apply for pr this year.
