Most places and countries are opening by the end of august or start of september the situation is not standable anymore. A lot of those countries survive toward tourism and all , they can't stay closed for a long while like this without severe repercussion.

Btw just asked our MP's staff on the visa's procedure for Mexico. Cause we know VAC is still closed and so on.
So i've asked what's gonna happen with PPR after the medical and the final admissibility and VAC are still closed ?

This information is not stated anywhere and that should be, tell me they won't keep us waiting again months and months for this!

Got an answer which pretty much give zero info

he says that they don't have the information of the requesting passport procedure and how/when is gonna be done. She will receive the instructions while is gonna be required.



This process is really kept as a submarine , they tell a few things is all. Ugh ! it' managed the same as the covid the rookie way most like somedays.

I ordered my notes just to confirm my application is complete on August 4, 2020 and got them today. I've never received the officers notes after only 2 weeks. I guess if anyone plans to order their notes that now is the time to do it!

In my notes it said application assignment due date September 12, 2020. I wonder what that means. It seems they moved my file to Bogota. I'm hoping that's good news.

I am puzzled right now. I wrote to immigration asking if our file would be transfered yo another place for the final step (PPR) because I have read that the file of some people (didn’t give details) might have been or will be transfered for the visa. The answer I got is that no file will be transfered and that what I have read is for people who are already in Canada and who could therefore get their final step (getting a visa) completed within Canada.

I'm thinking since Mexico is still closed and there are so many application they are assigning them to different offices. So finger crossed this will end soon for all of us.... ."

Jenny's office confirmed that my case is being processed in Mexico and would remain there until the VAC opens. Cause they don't know , so the way to keep us occupied is to make us trying to know. They said in the news that they are trying to push up a good batch of ppl for entering Canada including sponsorship (essential ppl) , Trudeau annonced it but , they have no way at the moment that is possible to do so. Maybe this will change in a few weeks but i don't see how they gonna do for the person still awating a PPR or close to have. .... Covid is none ending puzzle.

I tried chatting with the VAC in Mexico City but they wouldn't tell me anything lol. Just that they will open when the government permits them to but I don't understand because they allow tourists to go there now for vacations but yet the VAC can't open. It doesn't make any sense to me

On vfs Mexico site it says VAC will reopen September 30, but then again they have been extending reopening now for few months

Oh really? I don't see a date on their site and they told me they had no set date. Any chance you have a link?

I see that they extended certain measures until September 30 but I didn't know that means they will reopen then...

From what I read that is regarding when they will start to receive paper based applications. It doesn't really specify that is when they are opening- or did I misread?

That is where I saw it, it only mentions paper based temporary visas

My bad if I posted wrong info, I just don't understand why a VAC will only be opened to receive paper base applications only and not issue or accept other things like ppr. Weird for a VAC to be in full effect or regular working conditions for that only. Again my apologies

No problem at all! All of this is so confusing I don't get it either! Hopefully things open up soon!
