So apparently Trinidad VO is open & giving out PPR because I consulted a immigration lawyer today that does visitors visa application etc and he said yes they are Working but their staffS are limited. So it’s a good thing still.

I tried chatting with the VAC in Mexico City but they wouldn't tell me anything lol. Just that they will open when the government permits them to but I don't understand because they allow tourists to go there now for vacations but yet the VAC can't open. It doesn't make any sense to me

I sent a website for an update the other day and the response was the same.

They confirmed our application has been approved and that my husband's medical had been extended until December 31/20. Other than that, just the usual, we have to wait until they have govt approval to open in Mexico.

I had asked if they had visitors now coming to their country and they are opening theatres, swimming pools, etc. why would they not open the VO but I got no response to that.

i've heard of September 30th at some place but again, no guarantee of any or maybe it was the VAC service itself, i don't know.

Yeah i know , *sigh* we can just hope for the best at that point. it would be stupid of them to put other delay with you are at PPR / PR

I think with everything going on and all the protests that at some point soon the government will figure something out for us. I'm not going to hold my breath but there is a lot of pressure on the government for reuniting families.

On vsfglobal it says that Mexico will start sending back passports to those who had already sent them before COVID-19. I hope those who have a decision made are next.

You are right! It did change. That is a good sign. I copied and pasted from vfs site:

• The Canada VAC in “Mexico City” is closed to the public, but will provide passport return services via courier only with effect from 27th August 2020 (Tuesday & Thursday from 7:00 to 12:00). A VAC representative will contact applicants whose passports are ready to be returned and will provide further details regarding how passports will be returned to applicants via the courier service provided by the VAC.
