For all those eagerly awaiting their PCC from India. Sharing my timeline:

23 April - Mailed PCC Documents via Purolator to BLS Brampton
24 April - Delivered to BLS Brampton
08 May - I was able to track the my file on the BLS website for the first time
10 May - Forwarded to Consulate General of India (CGI) Toronto
25 May - Received email notification from CGI that my request has been sent to the local police station in India for verification
26 May - 5 June - Followed up with local police station, district police station as well as send numerous email to CGI enquiring status. FYI, district police station first gave an alibi that it will be delayed as result of covid 19, said they didn't receive any request from CGI and then blamed on some server issue. Meanwhile CGI said they are awaiting a response from the local police station which could take three weeks after which it would my responsibility to follow up (SMH!). My family in India kept pursuing and following up with the district and local police station until a physical police verification was conducted. It helps to know someone at the PS, at least they will appreciate the urgency of the request.
5 June - Physical police verification in India, visited my home, took copy of passport, photo id etc.
8 June - PCC processed and sent back to BLS
9 June - PCC mailed by BLS to my address
10 June - Received PCC at my address

FYI, I had applied for two PCC's and I only received one. In addition to putting me through such inefficient and lengthy process they didn't have the basic common sense of processing two copies, despite of me having sent two applications and paid for both. I sent a follow up email to CGI as well called up BLS (not even sure what their purpose is other than cause delays in what is already an inefficient process), I hope they send the second one soon, because all they had to do was print a second copy for the jurisdiction I requested.

Congratulations...I think you are the first one to receive it under the new process.

Could you please share your local police station city/state in india

Thanks

Hi, I stayed in Bangalore from past 10 years before moving to Canada. My native is Hyderabad. All my address proof and documents are with Bangalore Address. Now, none of our family stays in that address. Can I apply PCC on the same Bangalore address and give any of my friend's number who stay nearby. If the police officer finds that no one stays here, is it going to be any problem? I know the present situation is new to everyone. Still, any suggestions are appreciated.

Hey everyone,

Just a beginner question here

Do I have to send my original passport in a mail in application? (Or just photocopies will suffice)? My jurisdiction is Ottawa

Thank you soo much. These people are making it so hard to request a police certificate.
I have been calling them no one picks up. Should I just send a puraltor courier to the address that they have on their website here: https://blsindia-canada.com/contactus.php
You don't need to send originals to bls ottawa. Ya you can send it to bls ottawa address. Make sure you use purolator courier.

Thanks everyone for your reply. This company is really not up to the mark. I submitted my documents today. Hopefully I will get the police certificate before end of this month.

@CEC_Candidate1001 I am in Ottawa.

I submitted last week (June 8) yesterday I got mail that they have received the document but I cant still track my application on their website, I called them and they told it will take 4 - 5 weeks, so I m estimating my PCC to arrive by July 8, do share your timelines as well

@CEC_Candidate1001 It is taking a month eh?

I guess I will wait until July 16th, 2020 then.

Their website is rubbish, it gives tons of conflicting information, their customer service is almost non-existent. I hope I don't have to deal with them ever again.

An update on my PCC application:
June 2nd : Police verification initiated.
Next week, I sent couple of emails to SP office with my father's contact info (as the number I had given was with me in Canada).
They contacted my father but were unsure of what I needed, I called them and they said they didn't receive any request for police verification.

I got in contact with CGI vancouver and they gave me PV request id, basically its in the format : (file_id)-PPF-PCC and said we cant do much but wait for police verification.

June 11th : I gave the PV request id to police station and they were able to find my police verification request (yayy!!).

I feel like I am working in government office trying to connect the dots. Hoping to get my PCC before June 30th.
Update:
June 16th: SP office does not have dongle for digital signature on my police verification. Apparently it comes from Noida to regional RPO in Maharashtra and then to SP office of district.
As per SP Office, it will come after 8-9 days. I sent an email to RPO office and also asked them on twitter. Lets see how many days till this nightmare is over.
