Hello!
I am International Student who come from China and got the offer for Fall 2020 intake. I applied Student visa through SDS channel. I had submitted all necessary documents on April 7th and finished the process of bio-metric info collection on April 14th.
Up to now, however, it has been 8 weeks. I did not receive any update from IRCC regarding the visa result.
SDS channel supposed to have the fastest processing speed, according to the previous cases. Even if the COVID-19 pandemic goes on, double the processing time, i am assure that the IRCC visa officers will process the cases.
But i still wonder if i can get the student visa before August 2020.
Meanwhile, the worse thing is that our University had decided this fall will delivery the course through online manner. I am assure that the online course will be loaded against the teaching and learning qualities. I also have to confront with the network issue and overcome the jetlag across the different time zone, if i chose to take the online course.
What do you think about my case? Should i defer the offer for another academic year or simply wait for the visa result?
Very appreciate your concern and advice!
Thank you!

I know the application may be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, i don't believe that the processing is suspended for i know a few cases had been made final decision and they got the result, although most cases result was not good.
I feel sad about you are saying "waiting since January". I still wonder why would IRCC suspend the case processing.

as far as i know, not a single permit has been issued if application was lodged after 18 mar, you either get 'wait' or 'refused'.

read this 2 to 3 times u will understand
mostly people.donot understand by reading one time.
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/apply-visit-work-student.html
Appreciate your reference.

I would quote some sentences from the above official link so that you could help me to find out what exactly IRCC means.
"Until further notice, most people can’t travel to Canada, even if they have a valid visitor visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA). " = Even if we got the student visa before August 2020, without the exemption after March 18, 2020, we could not go to Canada.

"So we can keep processing applications from people who are eligible to travel to Canada, we’re temporarily"
"* changing how you apply"
"* suspending processing of some applications"
= We (IRCC) are processing the cases which are in work, study and visitor categories. We suggest all applicants should apply their application online. In addition, we will process several applications within the above each categories. (That was why i found some cases had been rejected recently)

Who is eligible to travel to Canada
Foreign nationals, including United States(US) citizens, can travel to Canada only if they're eligible.

= We are foreign nationals, for Canada respect. If we are eligible to travel to Canada, we must obtain the student visa before March 18, 2020

Please share your opinion regarding my understanding above.
Thank you very much!

Hello
I've been having the kind of relieved since I eventually got this forum, please I've been worried over my statement of account, I got my LOA for September intake at Fanshawe College since March, but due to statement of account issue, I would have to defer the admission to the next intake by next year January, although I want to use my senior brother's statement of account which he is police officer, his rank is Superintended of police and his property document.. He has 4matic Benz, Lexus jeep and house document worth over 10m niara.. My question

1. Like how much do my brother need in his account to apply visa for me

2. Can he also attach his property document when applying for the visa

3. Can I attach my other senior brother's property and my dad's property.
Thank you in anticipation

Yes. I have the same application status with 'wait', or we can say no any response. But it's better than 'refused', right?
I wonder even if i could get the student visa, the upcoming concerning points are the flight arrangement and the border re-opening.
