COPR and coronavirus

I’m on my way right now. Waiting at Heathrow for my next flight for Toronto. Immigration guys at Delhi checked my COPR thoroughly to make sure it’s valid. In my case my COPR is expiring today and that is 18th May. So there is no one year Visa rule in this case as you are not going there on work permit, you are travelling as COPR and Delhi Immigration Department is very much aware about COPR.

Thanks and congratulations....so glad that you made it on the last day.....can you please confirm what else to remember at delhi airport...what forms to fill?.....how much time they take for health check?

Reach at least 4 hours before at the airport.
Need to fill two simple forms having passenger and flight information.(Time taken 5 min)
Only simple thermal screening of fever at the entry of airport. (Time taken 1 min)
For maintaining the social distancing airline and immigration staff are working Slower than the normal that is why reaching four hours before is fine. But after all checks at airline counter, immigration and security I reached two hours early at the final travelator of departure gates.

New Delhi airport is like an airport of 1950s these days. One flight a day. No hassles, no puzzles, no traffic, very simple like old times as my grand parents told me.

This is my 11th visit at Heathrow and here my experience is totally different this time. Heathrow, one of the busiest airport, where in normal days a plane takes off every 30 seconds and lands every 45 seconds is now reduced its operations to one aircraft at the landing/takeoff area every 15-30 minutes.

Thanks. Is it OK if the address is not in my name? I'm using my friend's address for the PR card. Also for SIN, is there a physical card associated with it, or is it just a number?

It's a physical copy that they will mail you on the address that you provide.

Dears I informed IRCC that our country border closed and I could not travel to Canada. My visa expire on July. if the borders opens may I travel? Will they cancel my visa till July,? I am worried that IRCC will open my file and change the status to in process from approved. Please share your opinion

If your copr is valid you can travel.They will reopen the file only after copr expires.Ours they have not opened even 2 months after expiry ....And they have written on their site if you are able to travel continue to do so.

My application is in process and the progress bar shows 70% of time elapsed since i submitted my application, and estimated date of completion is given in July 2020.

In this situation of Pandemic when can i expect PPR request from CIC??

True.Only arguement we all with expired coprs can use to console ourselves is we are saving our pof money as job prospects are very dim in Canada for next 4 to 6 months except for IT ppl.

The general processing time for PR application is 6 to 8 months but with current situation it could go beyond 12 months. We still have not cracked the logic behind processing time for PR application. In normal situation it could take 4 months and for others it could take more than 6 months. I can only suggest you to have patience and just wait for PPR email or any other update from IRCC.

They have a CO-PR approved before March 18th, 2020

4-6 months would be good. It could be much worse.
