Looking at the current situation and extension of lock down till 31st May I really doubt that International airlines in India will resume in June.I think by July only we can expect it to resume..

If they continue to extend the lock down then even July looks doubtful.

No problem at all. You can apply for SIN, OHIP and bank account at later point of time.

Hey, you can apply SIN online, it's a fairly simple process, won't take you more than 15-20mins. So for PR also you must be giving an address, you can give the same for SIN. Just a suggestion.

Thanks. Is it OK if the address is not in my name? I'm using my friend's address for the PR card. Also for SIN, is there a physical card associated with it, or is it just a number?

For those who are contemplating travel via land border. I crossed the land border from Michigan yesterday. It went smooth and I was the only one in the immigration.

Are you planning to quarantine for 14 days and return back to USA? Is there a way to avoid quarantine ?

Can anyone please help me clarify one situation-
A friend of mine has got his COPR approved before March 18 and falls under exemptions to travel to Canada. The real issue is information posted here by Air India about Repatriation flights http://www.airindia.in/r1landingpage.htm
They are saying that they are carrying people on outward journey from India to Canada and foreign nationals as well as Indian Nationals need a valid visa of 1 year period.

What if a person has a PRV expiring in 6 months.????? Will Indian immigration department or Air India stop them from boarding the plane even if Canada is ready to accept exempted foreign nationals??

Thank you for responding. Can you share if they asked you anything at Indian immigration check before boarding or entering security clearance area? Also did you have less than 1 year left on Visa validity on your permanent resident visa? Did Air India say anything?

I am looking for some feedback for my parents traveling from Delhi to Toronto on 21st May. I understand it's a risk for them to travel at this moment but I believe the risk will remain for next 6 months to an year so the whole family took the decision as the CO-PR is expiring pretty soon....has the India Government announced anything about resuming the flights than we would be giving it a second thought but....

I have below questions

1. Does the expiry date on CO-PR matter? I am assuming no but want to reconfirm for my sanity.
2. What forms they have to fill at Indian airport before check-in? What does the instructions meant by screening?....is the check-in and boarding process simple or they should be considering anything?
3. What forms do they have to fill at Canada airport since the ArriveCan app may be difficult to manage given their age? can someone provide the lonk to the form.
4. How is the landing process overall...like you initial and sign the CO-PR (2 copies) and then go to customs for goods-to-follow and you are done? can someone please elaborate the landing experience now a days..it was very smooth in the past.

In my case my COPR is expiring today and that is 18th May. So there is no one year Visa rule in this case as you are not going there on work permit, you are travelling as COPR and Delhi Immigration Department is very much aware about COPR.
