Well this sucks, I mean they sent back my whole packet before because of not hand signing the OWP, I would think they should've told me if I needed a different Background form. lame.

They’re requests seem inconsistent so I’m not going to worry about until I hear from them directly if they need a different form. I’m sure if we did they would have requested it by now.

For 6months and no AOR no update nothing, I can't even link my application online to know the status of it, meaning they haven't open it, does this means my application will take more the 12months processing time?.

Hello friends I have joined you.
For 6months and no AOR no update nothing, I can't even link my application online to know the status of it, meaning they haven't open it, does this means my application will take more the 12months processing time?.
Welcome friend! We're here to support each other, a shoulder to cry on, and to update each other and our OWP battle. I too never received an AOR but I was able to link our app. However, no linking for our OWP and according to IRCC it has not even been looked at yet. Can you link your PR app online?

Exact same situation as us. The question of why we don’t meet the eligibility requirements isn’t being answered. I’d suggest writing to your MP like some of us have done.
Hey, yes, thanks, we will write our MP very soon. By the way, almost everyone who wrote their MPs have posted their experience here. What's your story? Did your MP gave you any response?

I wonder, when that happens how do you know the received your application? That's a concern I used to have before getting my AOR, because if your application gets lost there is a lot of personal information in that package!!

Our MP contacted their IRCC rep who looked in the system and said "there's no OWP in the system" (thanks captain obvious haha). Then they said they'd contact the office directly to inquire further about why our application had not been started. It has been one week and we have not heard back yet. Because our application hasn't entered the system that means it's still just a pile of papers somewhere on someone's desk. I know for a fact that case officers are working from home and do not have all the paper work there so I imagine I would get an answer to my question/situation until everything is up and running normally again which could be weeks! I'm going to ring the MPs office next week and ask them to contact their rep again. It's critical as my husband only has until the end of this month to restore his status if he needs to!

No I can't they keep telling me it's not in their system meaning they haven't open it, 6months now this is not fair because they are almost done with applications that were submitted in November, December, and has started working on January applicants. How could they tell me they haven't open my application.
They requested for original documents per my country's specification so how do I resubmit another documents.

Yes that's what I think, sometimes I think my application is missing but I was told it's normal and do happen, they requested for original documents with the exception of passport. Am so worried abt and very frustrated.

Personally, we paid extra to have them sign upon reception of our application. That way we knew it hadn't gotten lost or anything like that. But the official IRCC reception date is the one on your AOR.

We mailed our application on Dec 2nd, 2019. As @DirtyMelodies, we paid extra to know the date of reception, which was Dec 9th, 2019. On Feb 6, 2020, we got the AOR showing that our application was received on Dec 9th, 2020. That very same date I was able to link my PR application to my online account and a week later I was able to link my OWP application as well.

You mean they're done with OWP applications for those months...not PR right because PR applications seem to be stuck for September applicants onward. Unfortunately, if we haven't received our OWP by now then they thought we didn't meet the criteria in some way and we have to wait until AIP....unless.....our hard work and pushing with our MPs and web forms can get us some answers and get them to review our situations again as this is bull sh*t in my opinion.

We never got AOR for the PR app, we had to ring IRCC and ask for our application number...it was only then that we could use the app number to link online, so you can try that (although nearly impossible to get through on the phone right now). Once we linked online we could see the "Date received" on the right. We were told by a call centre agent (who usually makes things up) that not every agent sends an official AOR..but who knows if that's true.

Also try linking by various methods, UCI number, Passport, Place of Birth, I can't remember the different options but try all you can as I've heard some people can't link by one way but try another and it works.

If you have postal proof of them receiving your application I'd contact your MP via phone first and explain your situation then I'd email the MPs office a copy of the postal receipt and get them to look into it on your behalf and request your application number.

If you don't have a proof of postage and can't get an app by calling IRCC, I would still go the MP route as there isn't much you as an individual can do.
