Yeah, Airlines should give you credit refund that you can use later. Plus most have a free cancellation within 24 hours (if that applies to you).
Guess it's a webform now.
My problem is that I need to renew my passport (expires in Aug) and the consulate here in US is closed for an indefinite period.
Plus IRCC needs a passport that's valid for 6 months if they re-open my case:/
Thanks buddy for reminding me. I almost forgot about risk free cancellation. Just cancelled my tickets for a full refund.

Does this mean they are only allowing copr landing from the US? I looked into the exemption link for foreigners from non-US, it doesn't include copr landing.
From what I understood, they mentioned people with exemptions (like copr approved before March 18, etc) can travel if coming from country other than US.

For US, they mentioned, travel only if the travel is essential and there is a list of essential activities like study, work, etc.

I'm emailing CBSA to check if the restriction applies for the land border only.
I believe soft landing is not a good option at the moment if you are planing it. Why to take risk when CoPR extension is in place if your travel is not deemed as essential? Rest its your decision to make.

Yes, I am a PNP candidate (Alberta) with copr. I also received an email from AINP yesterday. The email only applies to applicants whose employment has been affected by covid and have still not received a COPR. for approved applicants, you do NOT need to inform.
So did you get your extension for COPR which country are you from??

copy paste where it says strongly advised to travel. Like we needed another idiot here seriously.
First of all, I've been posting and following this thread since page 10 so I don't need your permission. Secondly, you clearly seem to not only be ignorant, but lack basic manners as well... Hence I don't feel the need to respond or copy paste anything for you.

Alright, just got off the call with CBSA and the lady said that if I got my COPR before March 18 (which I have), I can fly over to Canada, even if am not an essential worker. Also, she asked me to send an email to CBSA too, to have that in writing and asked me to carry all the IRCC emails to the Port of entry etc.
The 14 day quarantine thing applies and I should have a plan.

I have found an interesting scenario. If you apply for COPR extension and if it is approved. we will be asked to do our medicals again. Once we do the medicals and send out our passport for re stamping. I heard you will get another year of extension from the date of new medicals.

Is this valid?? If so it will be a great option.
no IRCC will extend visas and copr for 3-6 months without having to do medical

Quoting from the IRCC email:
"Use the issuance date on your CoPR to determine if you were approved before, on, or after March 18, 2020. If possible, we encourage you and your accompanying family members to arrive in Canada at the same time."

I can confirm that CBSA is in line with this. I just called them and they just said that COPRs issued before that date can get in even if they are non-essential.
