It may not be an issue with the actual PCC expiring, but from what i understand usually iRCC wants a PCC that is dated not longer than a year from the date of issue.

That’s why they might request a more recent PCC.

Who was the individual in here who has an expired COPR? Who didn't travel? Have you heard anything? Has your case since been re-opened due to expired COPR?
My copr has expired.I could not travel. No I only got same generic response that others are getting that they will contact me when the restrictions are lifted. No I have not got any such intimation that my case has been reopened. It won't happen now.As lock down is going on in India.

My copr expires on April 26. I am not being able to find any way to reach canada
Flights are not taking any booking.Aur India declared it will be closed till 30 April.I think lock down can be extended or open with some restrictions. So u have valid reason for not being able to travel. You can Raise a web form after 18th April.

The PCC has no expiry date. Also, the PCCs are used to determine criminal admissibility. There rules for the PCC are

  • For the applicant’s current country of residence, the police certificate must have been issued no more than 6 months before the submission of the e-APR.
  • For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant stayed in that country for 6 months or more in a row.
  • Police certificates meeting the above requirements can be accepted even if they have an expiry date that has passed.
  • This includes the requirement to provide a police certificate for countries in which the individual has travelled for 6 months or more in a row, whether or not the individual had an established residential address during this time.
First of there is no such thing as extension of COPR and PRV. If you cannot travel before the expiry date of COPR and PRV, your application will be re-oped and a review will take place and new documents will be issued.

The only thing that IRCC will check is that meds are current, extend them or ask for re-med as required.

If you have changed your country of residence or there has been a material change in your circumstances, you may be asked for additional docs.
Thanks.
