Divorce on a work permit

Hello
Can anyone tell me if a Filipino on a working visa in Canada can divorce his Filipino wife in Canada so can remarry outside the Philippines? I realise that there would have to be an annulment of marriage if returning to PI.
We have been separated for over 3 years while I've been working here in Canada and have not been in a relationship with her since.

Yes you can.

The divorce is only valid in Canada and not in the Philippines since both parties are still Filipino. If the applying Filipino became Canadian before he/she applied for divorce then its another story.

I think the divorce would be recognised in other countries too?
If it allowed me to remarry in Canada or other countries, would my wife (ex) also be able to remarry in other countries other than PI?

Should be valid in everywhere except the Phillipines.
