I think we shouldn't panic. We can apply for extension through webform and I'm certain that they would take care of it.

I mean they take 5 business days to reply. If they don't reply, it's okay to send one webform request per week to let them know that you can't travel and not like whatsapp messages when your girlfriend does not reply after reading your messages

IRCC is aware of us thats why they came up with COVID19 delivery measures which includes not cancelling CoPR after its expiry even if we are unable to travel due to ban or COVID19 situation in your country. As per current situation they don't even know when the travel ban will be removed as situation with COVID19 could go south. We should also keep in mind that ban could be lifted prior to 30 June to maybe extended further if its end of the world kinda situation. Ban could be lifted in steps first CoPRs>Students>Work permit>Completely. So be proactive but also smart with the situation that we have here in hand. It's not just Canada ban is everywhere in the world right now.

We are the chosen ones not the forgotten ones. Staying safe is the first priority.

Officials are working from home now and are in self isolation. So what else do you want to know someone calling you? It's an Order from an official Government of Canada site with the CA certificate of Entrust Root Certification Authority - G2.

I totally agree.

But it's each person's responsibility to ensure they are on the record that they couldn't land because of the travel ban. There are some people who could have landed before their COPR expired and others who couldn't. If you know there is no way for you to land before the expiry date as is my case, i have to let IRCC know that and request the extension.

I can't expect them to know i couldn't land, they might think i just didn't land and just let my documents expire because i lost interest in immigrating, which has happened in certain cases.

I have to be the one to be on record saying i wanted to land but couldn't, and i'm requesting an extension. I can only do that by sending them a webform stating that.

While i hope they will verify individually themselves whether or not people could land and communicate that, it's easier if i tag myself as someone who couldn't land.

If they don't allow to COPRs land till July ,there will be 60-90k of people who was left by Canadian government without any effort to help and and under circumstances that may put in risk all those families. Most of us already left everything behind. Such acts are irresponsible. As a result there would be thousands of lawsuits against and risk to lose hundreds millions of dollars (all the money from Canadian taxpayers). Everything will be fine. Again no one knows nothing. Changes are applied every single day. Just follow instructions from IRCC and wait. Stop panic. Everyone!!!!!

Don't be ridiculous. You can't sue a country for imposing travel restrictions.

It's also important to let them know how many people couldn't land, so perhaps they will implement an exemption for COPR holders before the 30 June travel ban is lifted.

Until the coronavirus goes away - the ban isn't going to go away. Realistically why would they put their country in danger and open borders again until the virus magically goes away, mutates into something less impactful, or we have a drug.

this seems to be few months affair, Alberta and BC have suspended their school indefinitely. for now the daily active cases is increasing. the first signs of border opening will be when the daily active cases start declining and there is a talk of schools resuming, then i think govt will start talking about opening the borders.

Just mention that you are unable to travel because of travel restrictions, and you are willing to travel as soon as the travel restrictions are lifted. when the travel restrictions are lifted, send another webform

Correcting myself.

As soon as you tell that you are not able to travel they will reopen your application even if you CoPR is not expired yet. If ban is lifted within you CoPR expiry then tell then again that you are able to travel and land in Canada within your CoPR expiry. They will close your application.

If you can't travel after telling them and your CoPR expired then they will wait for 60 days for you to answer them if you can travel, if you still not sure about travelling then application will remain open for other 60 days for review. So in total 120 days after they reopen your application.

So as soon as you tell them that you are good to travel and there are no travel restrictions for you, start arranging PCC for you and your family if they are travelling too. I believe getting PCC second time would be easy as you have already got one. Extension of approved CoPR holders should be their priority once things go back to normal.


So with extension its chill and nothing to be worried about if its all good with respect to medicals and PCC.

You can do it now or wait until 31st March. You still have time to inform them about situation. Its up to you. The only difference is that things are changing on daily basis and you will have more information to add in your webform after one week from now. Your decision.

Maybe you can mention that this is to inform you that i am not sure that when this ban will be lifted and with current situation it seems that i will not be able to travel prior to expiry of my CoPR. Could you please consider extending my CoPR? Looking forward to hearing from you.

If you have flight tickets then attach them so they will know you are planning to travel. If you don't have booked your flight then mention that you were planning to do so.

Don't copy exact words but i guess you got the feeling what needs to be mentioned in webform.
