Hi Can anyone tell me, how much time does it take to share payment instructions for GIC CIBC.
I submitted my application today, and received an acknowledgement mail, whereas I am still waiting for payment instructions details to transfer funds.
PS:- I have sent mail on their email, and is continuously checking the isbo portal.
it normally takes 2 days max. did you receive it?

Hey everyone, I want to apply for GIC in CIBC bank. I'm from India. CIBC site mentions there is no processing fee. However, when CAD 10000 is converted to INR for exchange price it's Rs.20000 higher. So my question is should I opt to pay in CAD with a processing fee. The total would be CAD 10150. Would my bank charge me a nominal fee/exchange fee if I pay using CAD instead of INR?

Instead of CIBC'c GIC, is it also ok to show proof of funds using CIBC'S Student Deposit Program?

I ran into same analysis and I am also looking for answer. Can anyone reply who had recently availed GIC?

Which exchange rate are you using? Please use the bank's exchange rates listed on their site. Not the one from google.
https://remit.onlinesbi.com/glsremit/displayExchRate.htm

They do have conversion GST and probable wire transfer commissions
There is quite a big difference in Any bank exchange rate and CIBC as difference is in 25000 INR for 10000CND GIC.
For example
for 10K CND GIC, ideal currency in INR is 560000INR (SBI shows 55.4 currency rate). But CIBC shows 585000INR as final amount for GIC so almost 25K INR more compare to currency conversion. Now 25K is really big amount for GST and transfer commission. Specially when CIBC claims that they have zero program fee and service fee.

I would like to inform u that CIBC exchange rate comes the best as comparing 10150 CAD gives u best exchange rate if u want go nd cmpare yourself with your bank or a money tranfer agent.

Dont compare 10000 cad compare 10150 as there is some fee also associated when using wire tranfer.

Moreover it also provides easier and better processing as compared to wire tranfer.
