Hello Guys, this forum helped me out a lot during my own PR application and I'm hoping someone can help me out again with some questions as I plan to sponor my wife.
Basically I got married in Pakistan a few days ago. I am a Canadian PR holder and she is just a regular good old Pak citizen. My question is what are the chances of her getting a visit visa to come here and then we can apply for the whole year long sponsorship thing as inland or outland applicants from within Canada.
If the answer to above is 'no freaking chance' then when we apply from Pakistan can I go back there for a few months( 3 to 4 ) to live with her while the application is processed, will that hurt our application.
Thanks in advance guys, really appreciate any guidance
Chances are very low.

No, you can't go visit for 3-4 months. As a PR, you are required to live in Canada throughout the sponsorship process. A few visits of 2-3 weeks are generally OK but anything more and you risk IRCC deciding you are residing out of Canada and refusing the app.

Hi guys, quick question. When including the 20 pages of social media evidence like texts or messengers messengers, do I have to include a header on the top of the page that says indicates that these are evidence? Or will they be fine if I just included a printed sheet with messages and side text which explains the context of the message? Add a header? don't add a header? Am I overthinking everything?

Thanks again folks!
10 pages, not 20. Follow the checklist.

You are overthinking.

you must send only 10 pages but on 1 page you can place several screenshots

Hi All,

I have applied for spouse family sponsoring and just last days, i have received a letter saying that i have met the requirements as a sponsor. Question, is this the sponsor approval?

Thanks!

Hi All,
I am preparing the application and would be submitting it soon.

What are the various stages after submitting the document? I am not used to the AOR and stuff yet. If someone can shed some light, it would be greatly helpful.

Appreciate it

What @canuck_in_uk replied is true, the US doesn't issue National Identity documents per se.

I had the same question as you regarding this issue, and did a little research online before completing my PR application. A US driver's license is considered the closest thing to a National Identity Document, so I entered my DL information there. It also fulfills the issue date and expiration date fields. I don't know if they will overlook this since I'm a US citizen, but my paperwork wasn't returned and I haven't been questioned over it. So it is up to you which way you want to proceed on this issue. Obviously if the PA doesn't have a DL, this is a non-issue. If they have a state-issued ID card instead, this could probably work too.
Super helpful! Thanks!

I have another few questions -

For the "Schedule A Background Form" -
My wife didn't complete high school traditionally, but completed her GED instead. What should she put for the time that she spent in high school? Would it be "4" due to the GED's academic credentialing, or should we try and put together a rough estimate of the amount of time that she took to study/complete the test? Should we just include an addendum/explanation on an additional piece of paper stating that she got her GED?

My wife doesn't have a father listed on her birth certificate. She didn't really know him (knew his name kind of, but they never met in person. I believe they spoke brielfly on the phone once.) He passed away recently, and that's about as much as she ever knew of him I believe, aside from speaking with him on the phone once. Should we just put "Unknown" for the father's details?

They ask if you've ever been in a common-law relationship previously. Does that apply to relationships that occurred before the age of 18? My understanding is "no," due to 18 being the minimum age in Canada to be in a common-law relationship.

For the "Sponsorship Evaluation and Questionnaire," it asks for the sponsor's work history. I worked for a company for 5 years, and received around 4 promotions. Do I have to break out each position that I worked as a separate entry, or can I just put the employment history as a long block with my most recent job title?

For the "Part C" section of the Sponsorship Evaluation and Questionnaire, what type of language should I use? Should it be first-person, "I, We, Etc." or third-person? Right now what I have is fairly sterile, "The applicant and the sponsor first met in..." that type of thing. Does that work?

Let me know. Thanks!

I have a similar doubt, because Im planning to apply to FSW as single, but in the future I plan to eventually marry my gf and I’ve heard that the sponsorship is as lenghty process and ideally it would better if she could spend that waiting time with me.
Please share any info you guys have, I am in same situation and cannot afford that much long processing time lines.
Landed as a PR 4 months back. Planning to get married, fiance is in India.

Doesn't really matter what times you can afford. The processing times are what they are.

Is there anybody here who applied for a tourist visa for spouse after submitting the application? Does it affect your PR application in case of refusal? What are the chances of getting a tourist visa? Any recommendations?

Just out of curiosity - does anyone know of anyone/instances where a person with a tourist visa was denied entry at the border while their spousal visa was in process.

We applied for spousal sponsorship in November 2019 and my wife is currently in Singapore doing her masters. She already visited me for Christmas last December for about 3 weeks (No issues at all during entry/exit).

She'll be completing her program in May and is planning to come to Canada to be with me through-out the rest of the application process.

Now my question is what are the chances that a CBSA officer will deny entry as she doesn't have a solid need to go back to Sinapore or her homecountry.

A refusal doesn't affect a PR app. Chances are very low.

Refusal of entry is very rare when a sponsorship app is in process. If she shows up at the border with all of her worldly possessions and declares she's moving to Canada, she may be refused. If she comes with a few bags and states she is visiting her spouse, she should be perfectly fine.
