Hello Guys, this forum helped me out a lot during my own PR application and I'm hoping someone can help me out again with some questions as I plan to sponor my wife.
Basically I got married in Pakistan a few days ago. I am a Canadian PR holder and she is just a regular good old Pak citizen. My question is what are the chances of her getting a visit visa to come here and then we can apply for the whole year long sponsorship thing as inland or outland applicants from within Canada.
If the answer to above is 'no freaking chance' then when we apply from Pakistan can I go back there for a few months( 3 to 4 ) to live with her while the application is processed, will that hurt our application.
Thanks in advance guys, really appreciate any guidance

Hi all--we recently submitted our application via an immigration consultant. We got married after a year we started dating. He was separated for a year with his ex wife and then finally got divorce in May and we got married in September.

My husband is currently out of status but he is from Venezuela so he cannot be deported right now. We also applied for the open work permit with the application. The immigration consultant advised us that the open work permit might be a bit of a 50/50 as he is out of status but the sponsorship application seems solid. I'm wondering in your opinion how feasible it is for us to get the OWP. I know the government has some special considerations on Venezuelan nationals but not sure if it goes as far as giving him an open work permit despite being out of status.

thanks very much!

I have a similar doubt, because Im planning to apply to FSW as single, but in the future I plan to eventually marry my gf and I’ve heard that the sponsorship is as lenghty process and ideally it would better if she could spend that waiting time with me.

Hi All,
I am preparing the application and would be submitting it soon.

What are the various stages after submitting the document? I am not used to the AOR and stuff yet. If someone can shed some light, it would be greatly helpful.

Appreciate it

Hi Everyone,
I'm currently a PR holder and am preparing the PR package for my spouse and have a few questions -
  1. My spouse has a spelling error on a couple of important documents (that's a common issue in India), namely the spelling in her middle name is a little different in her passport to our marriage certificate to her birth certificate. While submitting these documents, how best to make our case stronger and overcome this name anomaly?
  2. Is it beneficial for my spouse to change her name in her passport and add my name to hers?
  3. While filling out the work experience for my spouse, are experience letters also required for her job with the applications?
  4. Is it necessary to perform education verification (WES) for my spouse education degrees?
  5. I'm planning to start an Outland application for her, but is it possible for her to get a temporary visitors visa to Canada while her PR process is in progress?
Thank you all, Cheers!

I am writing on behalf of one of my relatives. Can you suggest what is the possibility of his entry into Canada through spouse sponsorship or any other visa? We are a bit worried about him.

  • He is a 33 years old man from Bangladesh. He got married on May, 2015.
  • His wife is around 3 years older then him.
  • Both of them are form Bangladesh.
  • They did not know each other before their marriage and they got married on the first day they meet each other. It was an arranged marriage coordinated by their guardians.
  • His wife was permanent resident during their marriage and went back to Bangladesh for couple of months to get married.
  • The economic condition of the wife is better than the husband.
  • After marriage they had a reception where around 200 people from both parties attended. They have photons of the event.
  • After the marriage the wife not stay at husband’s house for around 7 days and came back to her parents home. She stayed at her parents home for 6 months and came back to Canada. During that 6 months the husband visited the wife’s home and stayed there couple of nights now and then.
  • Unfortunately after their marriage the relation between two families (including husband-wife) got complicated. The wife’s family started insulting the husbands family. The wife did not want to stay wit husbands parents and many more issues.
  • Due to This complexity they did not go for any honeymoon.
  • The wife came back to Canada after 6 months. She did not apply to sponsor her husband till now. It has been 3.5 years since their marriage.
  • Due to distance the relationship became worse day by day. There were several initiative by the husband to divorce the wife, but he backed off due to the high amount of “Dower” that he have to pay his wife if divorced.
  • At present the wife is in Canada and husband in Bangladesh. She neither want to divorce him and nor to bring him in Canada.
  • His level of education and level of English is not also sufficient to apply for Canadian PR by himself.
  • The husband (my relative) is worried if his PR application (if the wife apply now) will be approved or will be rejected. Will immigration Canada consider the long gap as a red flag?
Is there any other type of Canadian visa he can apply that will be easier for him to come to Canada?

1. The wife would need to sponsor him, and since she'd be required to pay his living expenses for three years, if the relationship is as degraded as you suggest, she would not sponsor him.

2. If she sponsored him, she'd potentially be committing immigration fraud if the relationship has broken down.

3. There are massive red flags everywhere here. More so than Shanghai in October.

4. He could try to immigrate through economic pathways.

1. 2.- Its best to update the passport otherwise you need to submit letter of explanation. One lawyer has advised me CIC only cares about passport photo page, so if her address or something spelling mistake in last page, it will be fine.

3. CIC does not need that but on safe side its good to have those kind of documents handy.
4. You can do it when she will about to come or start the process now to save documents. but for immigration purpose she does not need.
5. I have read on this forum that sometimes after PR file is in progress they denied for visitor visa. So some people first apply for visitor visa then put P.R. file. Now otherside we do have fear that if we got a rejection in visitor, we need to put it into P.R. file, which can affect P.R. may be.

umm best thing- may be get a suggestion from lawyer.

Hi guys, quick question. When including the 20 pages of social media evidence like texts or messengers messengers, do I have to include a header on the top of the page that says indicates that these are evidence? Or will they be fine if I just included a printed sheet with messages and side text which explains the context of the message? Add a header? don't add a header? Am I overthinking everything?

Thanks again folks!
