I am Canadian citizen and my wife is Cambodian whose pr application is under process .
Now I know I need to add on newborn to the pr application .. which I did.. but as I am citizen my child also is citizen of Canada..so in that case what is the process .. please let me know if someone has gone through same situation..
Thanks.

You should apply for Canadian citizenship for the child, forms available on the web, and can apply for passport at same time. You'll need birth certificate etc, again, look for the specific instructions in that form.

Note that you do NOT add the child to the PR application as an applicant (the child is not eligible to be a PR as is a citizen by birth to you, which would apply to any of her/your dependents that are citizens). I believe you do need to submit revised family information form that shows she is a child. You will, I believe, need to submit the evidence that you have applied for citizenshp for the child.

There are other threads here that have covered this recently, sorry I do not have links to hand.

Thanks I get your point.. my concern is that the process might be time consuming.. if it is possible to just add child with mother's pr process then when we reach Canada do the citizenship process..
Do you think this is possible ?
The processing times are ridiculously long as you might know.

Unless I missed something for the new born they will need a passport to travel to Canada. As a Canadian citizen they would generally be expected to have a Canadian passport

Yes that makes sense.. honestly it is faster to get Cambodian passport and travel as PR then to get Canadian passport.. because for Canadian passport , need citizenship certificate .. which has processing time of around 6 months after which to get passport add more time..

Not possible. How did you obtain your Canadian citizenship and were you born in Canada?

Ok so then you child qualifies for citizenship through you and claiming her citizenship is your only option. Lots of information on the forum on what you need to do.
Great .. thanks alot for clarifying. I Will have to follow the rules even if takes longer time ..

Your child is Canadian and cannot be added to the PR app. If you try to do so, expect further delays while IRCC sorts out the mistake.

You can apply concurrently for a Certificate of Citizenship and a limited validity Canadian passport. The passport can be issued before the certificate and in a matter of days with proof of travel.

I do not know how time consuming so not making promises. But in a recent thread another poster noted they got citizenship docs and passport relatively quickly. See here for example:
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/applying-for-my-daughter’s-canadian-certificate-canadian-certificate-for-adults-minors.678008/

Look at the post by @slough. 5 weeks (note: on an urgent request basis, won't apply in all cases) to get the citizenship certificate. I don't believe the process for citizenship documentation is the same as for PRs getting citizenship (particularly as regards children and newborns), so even iif your citizenship application took a long time, it's not the same thing. So it may not be accurate to say 'processing times are ridiculously long.' Put differently: your children (subject to requirements to prove) are not applying FOR Canadian citizenship, they ARE Canadian citizens by birth who are applying for documentation of such. (I'm sure a lawyer could be more specific, this is not legal advice)

Note, the other side of this coin is that no, you cannot just add the children to PR app. Canadian citizens are not eligible for PR status. But there's no obvious reason to believe that getting your child the right documentation will be especially onerous.

I already sent request for add on ..as was directed by the call center rep. From cic. She said as the child will be accompanying the applicant they need to know ..
