My spouse;
Wow, that was a quick process. Are you already in Canada? Which province was your destination?

I'm very much at the beginning stage of our spousal sponsorship application. Specifically, my application was received on Dec 10, 2019, and we received AOR on Dec 25, 2019. Since we are moving to Quebec, I wouldn't be surprised if a long wait turns out to be the case.
We are in ON, we are inland applied outside Canada. She was here on TRV.
Did you submitted CSQ? if you did then it might take longer. if no CSQ required then it might go pretty fast. for you AOR within 15 days is unheard of speed. most of application get AOR from 40-70 days from File sent.

best of luck. We were blessed with our speedy process and hope everyone here get their processed fast.

I haven't yet applied for CSQ. I am still waiting for the request from IRCC.

It seems like all December outland applicants are receiving AOR within three weeks. Very considerate gifts from CPC-S for Xmas and New Year.

Thank you! I wish us all a speedy and hassle-free process.

No need to worry. Our application had the exact same verbiage, when it first transferred to HKVO, yet our application was approved within 6 month.

The verbiage did not indicate SS. The only way to confirm SS is to order GCMS notes. I would suggest you to order GCMS notes at the end of Jan if the BGC status has not been changed at all.

It might take them longer to complete BGC as Chinese new year is approaching. All China govt agencies might take off work earlier for the "new year transportation/travel rush".
https://www.chinahighlights.com/travelguide/special-report/chinese-new-year/transportation.htm

be patient, you are still within 6-7 month from AR date, right?
I appreciate for your helpful suggestion. I will take your advise, just wait until the end of January.

Thank you

I'm worried about that may be an indicator that my background check will take a year. I saw other applicants started processing background check after pre-arrival letter received.
You shouldnt worry just wait out and results will come soon. There is nothing you can do even it is worrying. Maybe order a gcsm note to see what is going on.

Don't read too much into the GCkey updates. Ours was not up to date and sometimes missing information.
Once file transferred to HK keep checking your emails especially if you are acting as the representative.
The background check can be very fast depending on the history of your spouse. If it goes to security check
then it will take much more time to process so hopefully that doesn't happen. The GCMS notes will help you that information.
Why worry about it ? Nothing you can do, though completely understand the importance of loved ones especially this time of year !

Try not to stress .....Have some yummy food and baijiu with friends.
Look forward to a Happy 2020 :)

Hi all,

I found out the background in GCKey account changed from 'We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. ' to 'Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.'

I'm so confused about that. Because other applicants who shared their process in the forum were changed from 'Your application is in progress.' to 'We are processing your background check.'

Anyone has similar experiences. What do you think?
I just checked mine and mine has changed exactly like yours . It’s so strange

Congratulations!!! Thank you for sharing your good news with us. The status of my account is still same.
Thank you!
GCkey was also updated. It shows background check was completed on 24DEC and Final Decision was approved on 6JAN.
It means information displayed in GCkey may have a delay, especially the background check status.

Totally, I have used 200 days to complete the application approval since the application form arrived in Sidney.
