Hey bro
sorry to hear your dilemma. What requirements do you need to meet in order to restore your status? Why do you need to leave if your application is not approved by early February? Is your PNP based on your current job in Canada? so losing your job means you will lose your PNP and therefore losing points in your CRS?
Sydney is definitely slow, but I haven't been able to figure out what causes so many delayed cases there. Is it because a lot of review required cases are sent there? or it is because they are just lax in doing their work. My case has been processed in Sydney since the very beginning, and it is likely to stay there until the very end according to IRCC call center agents.
For me to restore status as a worker now my employer should pay the employer compliance fees which is around 400$(Which no employer will do) and attach that receipt with my application if not it’ll be rejected again. 90 days time CIC gave me to apply for restoring my status will be done in the first week of February which is the same time 6months processing for my PR will be done. I was hoping i will get a decision on my PR before that but i am starting to loose hope now.
Yeah my PNP has my employer name on it so i think it is based on the job i am doing with that employer now so loosing my job might also negatively affect my PR application.
So far i can somehow convince my manager to put me on a leave until February 10th(that is when my 6months is done) but I don’t know what will happen if I don’t get a decision by that time

So sorry to hear this sad situation where so many issues are intertwined. Could you get your employer to pay that $400 to help you restore your status? If that 400 dollars is the only barrier, could you consider asking your employer to deduct that amount of money from your next pay so it is actually you that will bear the cost of $400?

Also, have you ordered notes or called IRCC to figure out what stage your application is currently at? My 6-month period ends on Feb 2, but I have no hope at all as my security has been in progress for more than 4 months now.
I cannot ask them to detect it from pay cause i am on an unpaid leave from past 2months anyways I’ll check with my HR on Monday to see if something can be done, thank you so much for the advise.
Yeah I ordered my GCMS notes it says my medicals passed on Sep 3rd, criminality passed and eligibility has been met(Recommended pass) on Sep 17th. After eligibility met on Sep 17th i got RPRF request and i paid on Sep 18th after that from past 4months its just silent no updates what so ever.
Everything looks good in my GCMS notes no RR or anything like that only thing i hear all the time i call them is my file is at Sydney VO and Security Not Started , even today when i called same answer.
I don’t know if the security is being done in the background or they have just not touched my file after September.
Did u order GCMS notes?what stage your application is at?

Yes bro, ask your employer to see if they can provide this much needed assistance. If you have met all other requirements and this $400 is the only issue that is holding you back, you may even just ask them to pay it and then you pay them back. It would be absurd to let this $400 get in your way to PR here.
As to processing in Sydney. I passed R10, medical, criminality and eligibility within the first four weeks after my eAOR, then my security screening immediately started and continues into this year. I have no idea why your security hasn't been initiated. what is in your notes about security? also not started? Sometimes call center agents give inaccurate info about security.
In my notes it just says Not Started even when i called they are telling me the same thing.
How do you know your security screening is initiated?
Does it say in the notes or you ordered CBSA notes to find out?

Yeah. I confirmed that in my CBSA and CSIS notes. There is no need to order GCMS notes if you order CBSA notes at the same, because they contain the same information, with CBSA notes providing more details on security.
Will order the CBSA notes today, thanks a lot for your advise bro.

Good Luck

Hello everyone!

Need your urgent help.

I am in post AOR stage and my AOR date is Aug 9.

I found out yesterday that I was supposed to provide proof of funds for my non-accompanying spouse also. I found this out through this group and have not received an official communication from IRCC on this yet. May be they haven’t started my background check as of now.

I had filed my application through an immigration lawyer and this part got overlooked by them. Currently I am CAD 1500 short.

Now I need to provide the same and update it in my profile.

My questions are:

1. Can the funds be updated or you can’t change them once they are submitted. In short, how much of a problem am I in?

2. I hold a few securities in my wife’s account. Can I use them as proof of funds? Will I need any authorisation letter from her for this?

3. I am 5 months past my AOR, how will this impact my application status.

Looking forward to your help and guidance.

Sorry to hear about the PFL. Even though you have the opportunity to send a response as you did, it sure adds a concern.
According to IRCC, Applications should not be subject to unnecessary delays due to PFL.
There is also what's called "legitimate expectation": if you were given 30 days to provide a certain documentation, a negative decision should not be made before the 30 days period even if documentation has been received. I'm not sure if positive decision follows the same "rule", but it might.
Here is the link where I found the information above:https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/service-delivery/procedural-fairness.html

Keeping in mind that the 6 months "rule" is not really a rule. I would say it is much more an expectation than a rule, as we know some people got the PPR earlier while others, longer than this period.

I hope this information helps and I wish you the best outcome!

Hello Elaine_B thank you for your info kindly. Yes I do understand 6 months is just a time frame every case is different. I was given 7 days to response now I'm crossing fingers...

7 working days?...would the deadline be Jan 4th? Then, you should have a response in the following week, by what's written on that IRCC link.
Fingers crossed here too...I wish you the best of luck, sincerely!

I just entered my final month of the so called 6-month processing time, which is not respected and observed by IRCC itself. (Aug 2 AOR). feel hopeless...
Me too! there's an ambigual feeling to mee. Satisfaction to see the bar showing less than 30 days to be completed and desperation to know it might still take who knows how many days/months more.
I try to recapitulate all the steps we've taken so far, the fact that we are the lucky ones ahead in this process...so many people can't even reach the draw score nowadays, because it's been so high.
Then, I can't help thinking that I wanted so badly to be one of those who are happy to post here: I got the e-mail! And I feel anxious and depressed again...definetly, this process is not for the faint-hearted.

Really?! Oh man, I try to keep my expectations under control but every time I learn something like this, my heart breaks a little.
Mostly everything that I read about deadlines and such on official sites seems to be a fairytale.
I was so anxious another day, that my manager even suggested that I should seek professional help. My answer to her: I can't because it might affect my immigration process.
Isn't this crazy?!
