I plan on proposing to my girlfriend this year, She is a canadian citizen and i am US citizen. We have been dating for nearly 4 years and our relationship is 1000% legit. I had a few questions though if you guys could please help
1. I’d like to purpose around april while visiting for two weeks, then apply for a marriage license to be married in june. and then fly back out till june and return to get married, is this allowed?
2. Do i have to state to the customs officer that i am planning on proposing and then getting married during my stays? (Both trips will be around 2-3 weeks and i always have a return ticket)
3. Is my wife who is the canadian citizen sponsoring, allowed to leave her country to visit me in US for 1-2 weeks at a time during the application process?
4. Do i need any special sort of visas, documents when coming through customs with the intent of getting married? am i allowed to do all this while just coming in like it was a normal visit? I do not intend on staying in canada permanently well until the process is over, I am currently working in the states and can’t afford to not work in canada lol
