Hello everyone, need your help please. I have submitted my application for my mother only in July 2019 and got an update from CIC asking for two forms for my 'father' - 5669 and 5406. I am not sure if I submit these forms, will I get medical checkup for my father as well? He had medical conditions and he will not be able to clear medicals, most likely. I am planning to trigger the PR process for my mother more as a plan B so that she can travel here in case of any eventuality.

My question here is -
a) will I be able to get the PR for my mother only, with the medicals for my mother only? OR will I get medicals for both of them and based on my father's health, will both of them get rejected?

b) If I chose to withdraw my application now, do you know how much money will I get back?
do you mind me asking due to what medical condition medicals failed? I heard of heart attacks and strokes even cancer patients that got approved?
You can always consult with a lawyer and appeal the decision. There are cases that had been successful

As I have mentioned earlier, our file has been transferred at background checks stage. We did biometrics in Buffalo and medicals in Scarborough in Sep 2019. PR side went into process on 26 Nov and we were expecting DM. But file was transferred to NDVO on 29 Nov.
Oh ok thanks please give me a message when you get passport request. As I will have same scenario .

Update on 2020 Parents and Grandparents Program
Ottawa, December 30, 2019 —To ensure that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has sufficient time to complete the development of a new intake process for the 2020 Parents and Grandparents Program, the reopening of the program will be postponed until Ministerial Instructions are issued.

This means that the opportunity to express interest in sponsoring a parent or grandparent will not take place on January 1, 2020. Further information about the expected launch date and 2020 intake process will be available in the new year.

This will give all interested sponsors the same opportunity to submit an interest to sponsor form and a fair chance to be invited to apply.

Hi,
Could you let me know from where we can apply for parents sponsorship. I went to a cic webpage where it still mentions of 2019 and there’s no update of 2020.

I’m sorry for asking here - didn’t come across 2020 forum.

Thank you.

Hello Experts
I would like to apply for renewal of visit visa for my parents. Their PGP-2019 is under process. London visa office has very long timeline as compare to other offices like CPC Mississauga.

Any experience with visit visa renewal while parent's PR application under progress through PGP?

Thanks

I still haven't seen any updates on ECAS or by email for the COPR processing -- has anybody received their passports back from CPC-O (with the COPRs, obviously)?

Alright, folks. My parents' GCKey application page was updated last night showing the application has been approved, and detailing the counterfoil numbers and COPR expiry dates.

The Canada Post XPress post tracking has not yet been activated.

Good luck to all!

Very interesting. To me it seems like they will delay PGP 2020 intake at least till April 1, 2020.

Yes, sadly it also looks like if anyone who did not get an AoR by today, there app will be returned.

@YULIA-2016 @robertp @laxsun @jayeshaminnew

It doesn’t say anything about that at all. It just says no new applications will be accepted until they figure out what to do in the New Year. It’s likely they will take right up until April to approve or deny the remaining applications. Everyone who submitted this year needs to know before the new program opens so they can try again next year if they weren’t.

Hey sister @canuck78 now you see all the Canadians doing this and that do you believe me when I say that it happens all the time? The police or whoever do not investigate and Canada is easy on non injury or death type crime.
The fact is IRCC wants anything stated must be accompanied with legal documents to avoid further problems in futures. Why IRCC asks medical requests for even non-accompany dependants does not matter coming or not, the only way to exclude is divorced or dead or legally separated or not dependant anymore. IRCC easily knows applicants can file divorce to exclude a spouse, eventually they knew and confirmed That you did it on purpose, will IRCC force you to re-marry if the divorce cert was signed willingly by both?? its not IRCC jobs to investigate because it needs to be signed by both willingly, it would be very funny if one day a person receives a phone call from IRCC asks did you divorce legally or not?? You have right yell themunless the applicant makes fake cert of divorce. And at this point, the applicant and dependant are not belonging each other anymore and the excluded dependant CAN NOT complain IRCC in a near future that why he/she is not coming to Canada with the principal applicant. Just image if you are not divorced and in a near future your spouse complains IRCC that you immigrated to Canada and excluded a spouse on purpose WITHOUT divorce certificate. That why IRCC will not investigate as long as the divorce cert is legit and legally signed by both. The dependent spouse CAN NOT complain because they were divorced already before or after application submitted and the dependent spouse are not PRINCIPAL APPLICANT. I hope this will help your guys to understand IN THE RIGHT WAY, and do not educate IRCC should do this, do this,....and will stop discussing about this. Thanks happy newyear

Hi,

Does anyone have an experience or heard about biometrics repeat? My parents did biometrics at vac centre in dubai mid sep and I got a letter from cic end of nov that biometric cannot be verified because of quality issue for both my dad and my mom and they asked for the biometric to be repeated. There is no vac centre in the country my parents live and last time I paid 1500 cad dollar for travel fees.
Is there a chance to bargain and ask cic to revertify and accept with the current quality?

The cause of the issue is not explained, it can be elderly have a disappearing fingerprints or the vac scanners as both were not accepted!
Bio repete cases happen. run a search on forums and you will come across several. Why this happened ? We have no right to ask this question. We have to follow orders till we get our work done.
