What is the difference bw “We are processing” or “your application is in progress “ ? Mine is in “We are processing” since my medical passed and nothing has changed so far.

They have asked me to submit my passport to Ottawa. As my current work permit is expiring on Nov 30, I have already booked my tickets for Nov 29 going back to INDIA. I have sent a request via web form if they can send me the new PPR where I can submit my passport to VO in India. Let's see if they will transfer my application to VO in India or not. I am tensed as I have still not recd. any reply from them and I have my flight in 5 days. I spoke with the CIC agent on Friday and they told me that they are looking in this matter.

I received the PPR mail in my Inbox directly because I have previously received emails from CIC due to web form queries.

I'm an FSW Outland applicant.

So after MEP/BIL, you just had one ghost update on 24th and PPR on 26th? Is there any other update before 24th? Did you call and ask what the update on 24th was?

First of all thank you "Kiran9999" & "Wick_sran" for the congratulations. I hope you guys too get your PPRs soon.

For you Query : Yes, it was my only ghost update (what everyone calls it) unless I missed any.

And as stated in my summary I made calls only twice. (Oct 06 & Nov 08).

For the details kindly refer to the below excerpt from a previous post of mine:

1st Call : Oct 06, 2019 : Criminality Passed, Eligibility & Security Not Started.
2nd Call : Nov 08, 2019 : Criminality Passed, Security Ongoing & Eligibility Not Started.

On both the calls I asked the operator to give me a brief idea as to when I can expect a response from CIC. On both occasions I was told by them that the process shall happen within the designated 6 Months time but in some cases due to various factors, there might be a delay in the decision.

The operators on both the occasions told me that I shall be looking at end of Dec'19 or early Jan'20 for the response. It might happen earlier but might even get delayed by a month or two.

In the second call I even explained to the operator that I am currently living in a country other than my native one and I need to plan my demobilisation from here in advance so that I can go back to my native place prior flying to Canada. The operator told me that he understands my situation but told that the process will take its course. " ]


That was the last update I had from them. I was planning on making another call to CIC in the first week of Dec'19, but luckily I saw the ghost update on 24th Nov'19 & received the email today.

I would suggest everyone to be patient as in some cases there might be delays. I was mentally prepared to receive this in either Jan'20 or Feb'20.

Good day, you have same time line as mine just the medical was July 18 and Biometrics July 24. Hope to get our PPRs soon
