Good morning Forum members
Hope everyone is doing great.
I am preparing documents for the citizenship application. In the preceding 4th year, I was in UAE and I have to provide a UAE PCC along with the application.
I have seen two types of UAE PCC:
1- Issued by Dubai Police. The title is named 'UAE Police Clearance Certificate'. They send it electronic copy and the certificate clearly says that authenticity can be verified online. Dubai police do not issue an original certificate or courier it to Canada
2- Certificate issued by the Ministry of Interior UAE. The process is where one requests PCC online and it is sent with a red stamp thereon. The recipient has to visit UAE consulate in Toronto to obtain the original PCC (without the red stamp). The certificate issued by Ministry of Interior has a title 'criminal record certificate'
For Friends who have submitted citizenship application and provided UAE PCC, My question is :
1- Which one is better: The Dubai PCC is not original and citizenship application checklist asks for an original to be submitted. Is there a harm in using Dubai PCC?
2- Criminal certificate or Police Clearance certificate: Though both documents confirm the same thing i.e. criminal records, but don't you think to provide a certificate titled police clearance is better (i.e. the Dubai police PCC?)
3- Online verifiable document versus original hard copy document: I am wondering what if Dubai PCC issued is verifiable only for 3 months period and thereafter there is no record of the document. If this supposition is correct then there is a high risk that application might be delayed. Given the fact that Dubai certificate is electronic and can be verified online, I fear hard copy document is more credible (from immigration authorities perspective as I believe the applications are picked up few months after the AoR).
I would also appreciate if friends can share their experiences of using Dubai PCC or Ministry of Interior, one as the case may be.
Thank you in advance.
