I live apart from my husband, I have a career in Canada and the income in the Dominican Republic is very low so it just doesn’t make sense at this point in our lives for me to move there. I also didn’t realize how long it takes, a friend had a spouse immigrate but it was only 6 months. I didn’t know Mexico would be so slow!
I see so many couples living apart, it makes me wonder was there no other option for you and your partner to live together? The Canadian partner couldn’t live in your country?

Oh yes I could see that. When I was searching about the process I was seeing a lot of people getting it done in 3 months and I always thought we would be the same since we didn’t have any red flags

90% of cases to Mexico are not finished until the last month of the 12 initial ones. No one is able to tell why, but is a trend. Is totally based on PA's origin... and no one gonna be able to make me change idea on it , but anyway what can we do. Add to the fact.. that if you are sent on month 9th around.. lol chances are clear that the 12 gonna be latest minute..

It's crazy how much it's changed. 6 years ago, my sister in law married her husband 3 months after first meeting him. She put in the application right away and he was in Canada 7 months later.

Now nothing seems to be under the year mark :(

ugh.... is none sense that is long tho.

when you are transferred early is usually not good sign , as silly as it seems is because they need to verify something that they dont like in the application before going further. (Again depends on PA's origin...)

I think it is the theory closest to reality, because the applications where the PAs are from Venezuela, have received passport requirements at 6 to 4 weeks of the year mark. Everything depends on the origin of the PAs and it also influences the interviews. It has nothing to do with the level of education of the PA as I read there days ago. Because if that's why, my application would have been processed in 6 months.

I dont have the exactitude but they never did a thing or say something to stop those doubt, kind of confirmed it secretly by their silence.

Way way too hard to make money there , income is ridiculous there . We thought about it but decided it just wasn’t in our best interest . Maybe for retirement :)

I absolutely agree with you , the PA’s origin is 100% the reason . I have seen a trend with applicants from my husbands country and I can safely say in the last 2 years at least 90% go over 12 months and to interview . I just pray this is over soon

Waw..really ?? Come to think of it , that seems legit you know. What countries particularly may be under extra scrutiny? where is your husband from, Dominican Republic ?
He is yes , and not all but most that I have come across have been over 12 months and sent to interview . It seems they scrutinize some countries more than others . Just my perception, and personal research and not an actual fact .

is my perception too. There's def preferences down there. Starting to prepare my wife on purpose of this interview too even if we would like to avoid this, seems they do almost everyone that goes to Mexico.

Just been switched to weeks

Estimated remaining processing time: 18 Week(s)

... 4 months and half

Estimation : February 25th 2020 (12 months and 1 week)

My wide is Doctor and have a Seal and diploma completed there .... and she is now in a residency program of specialisation since a year, so def not related to education level..

Speaks : Spanish / English and a lil bit of french.

I think it has zero to do with education level and everything to do with the pa’s country of origin . It’s unfortunate but in my husbands country marriage for the sole purpose of a visa is common . We expected it and are ready for that date ..... that’s all we need lol
I think if everyone goes into the process understanding that an interview is possible , it’s easier

Yeah well , some abused the system in the past and we all pay for it , is not new.

Still wondering if they gonna make us pass through this interview or not , is just a bit sad that those things are not done right away in the first months. Would eliminate the fraudulent ones and they would have more time for real applications or even accelerate the process for ppl that requested this in all honesty.
