Hi Guys,

So today, my daughter and I successfully completed our COPR landing in Sarnia at around 4pm.

We left Kitchener about 1:30pm, travelled with all our documents just incase as advised on this forum. We arrived on the U.S side around 3:45pm, informed the border agent that were flagpoling. He was very relaxed about it and directed us to park near the immigration building. On arrival, officers asked us to get out with our wallet and ID and leave the car keys on the dash.

We entered the building and the officer asked for our documents, we informed him that we were flagpoling and he took my finger prints, asked to see our COPR documents (which was surprising) because my failed experience at Peace Bridge and Rainbow bridge was very simple. Refer to my post https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/failed-flagpoling-15-oct-2019-peace-bridge-and-rainbow-bridge.659622/#post-8243378

He then informed us that he was going to drive our car to the other side of the border, which he did. He returned to give us our passports and the administrative rejection letter and walked us to the other side. Entered the car and drove back to the Canada side, there are a few cars. Reached the border agent and told him we were completing our landing, he took our passports and flagpole letter and then directed us to the Canada Immigration office. We drove and parked outside the office. When we entered, there was no one, just us and 3 immigration officers behind the counters. We were called up, he asked only for the passport, COPRs and my driving license as proof of address I guess. He then asked if I had committed any crimes in Canada (No) and if I had any other dependents (No). He asked us to sit and within 10mins he was done. He asked me to initial against the questions I said no to and then sign below. He then signed as well and told us our PR cards will arrive in 4-6 weeks.

Because I had emailed IRCC for an office appointment, he said they had scheduled it a few days ago but had not notified me (weird). So he said if they contact me, to just tell them I completed my landing. And off we went. He was very nice. I am just so glad it is all OVER!

Good luck everyone!!! Thank you for all the support

We got them done before submitting our application. Processing takes anywhere from 3 to 8 months I am told. Mine took 6 months altogether. Your friend can call IRCC and get an update on the application.

Background check just means checking in all their databases that the person's information does not get flagged; basically nothing unusual or suspect.

Hi Maggie, Congratulations on your successful landing. Do you know on what days and at what times we can do landing at Sarnia? Niagara borders normally do the flagpoling only on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Does Sarnia has a schedule too or we can go there whenever we want? Thanks.
