Two years without a test invite

I hired a lawyer last week, that's the only option that was left to me after trying everything else.

That is brutal! If I were you, I would apply again! Include a cover letter with all the info of the current application and explain that it has been 2 yrs without a test invite!

If I were you, I would submit an urgent processing request.... also you can request notes for free so you will be able to see what has been going on

Been there, done that, didn't help. They said I am not eligible for urgent processing

That's exactly why I am hiring a lawyer, IRCC only replies back with "In progress"

Did they receive the FP? I mean did you check in the notes that they have received the FP.

I don't think so! I am positive once they get your new application, they will look for the old one and finish the processing. They can not have two applications open at once. So they will either finish the previous one or cancel it and start processing the new one. And if they do the latter, it won't take 12 months. It will be faster as most of the process should be done by now.

It will cost you less than hiring a lawyer, and sadly, lawyers aren't fast either! Just my two cents!

Also, consider emailing/ writing a letter to the immigration minister. I know someone who did the same recently and they finished his PR application a few weeks after!!

You never know! At this point, try everything you can.

Hi sorry to hear that. I have been waiting for a long time but not as much as you are. I am interested in learning about hiring a lawyer. If you don’t mind how much does it cost and how the lawyer is going to help. Are you planning to file a mandamus?? Can we file it by ourselves?? Thanks for your help in advance.

You did good by hiring the lawyer. I am almost in the same boat as you. Feb 2018 applicant and no test invite due to f**king clearances.

I also hired a lawyer and paying him good chunk of money for demand letters and mandamus application. Lawyer sent the status request to IRCC and they slapped back with usual answer that file is in progress, though in ATIP notes even a blind person can see that its suspended and on hold due to security clearances.
