I live in pakistan right now, but I have a 4 year American University Degree, I have taken ielts and toefl tests, but now they're almost 4 years old. So do I still have to do ielts again despite having an American undergraduate Degree?

IELTS is a must for SDS regardless of whether or not your last qualification was in English.

Yes it's a must and Visa requirement... I had done toefl already but for sds had to undertake ielts

Hello everyone,

I have received the acceptance letter from Manitoba Institute of Trade and Technology (MITT) for post grad diploma in International business.
I am in the process of applying for my visa and there are few queries that I would like to discuss with you guys.

1) 2 of my brothers are already living in Winnipeg as immigrants and I will be staying with them for the duration of my studies. So is this going to be an issue in getting a visa? they might doubt that I won't come back to Pakistan.

2) I am also applying for spouse visa for my wife.
a) How are the chances of getting spouse visa through SDS
b) And do I need to purchase GIC including spouse amount i.e. (10,000 CAD plus 4,000 CAD) or I can show bank statement for spouse requirements?

3) What is the most cost effective way to transfer money for GIC and tuition fee? through which banks have you guys processed the payments and how long did it take?

I am applying for my brother in law. He got an admission in Seneca college for three years advance diploma in Computer Program and Analysis. None of the bank were helping us to send money from Pakistan to Canada to get GIC finally I spoke with an lawyer he told me in order to send dollars outside Pakistan one must open Foreign currency account and you can only open foreign currency account if you are tax filer. Now, we are trying to get my BIL tax filer first once it done then will open foreign currency account.

bank won't send money for GIC through local currency account? what about tuition fee?

I am also applying for spouse visa. Can you tell me how you showed your funds? did you purchase GIC for all the applicants for e.g. (10,000 CAD plus 4000 CAD and so on..) or you just bought GIC for 10k and showed account statement for the rest?
Also, did you make GIC payment through foreign currency account or local currency account?

i would say three weeks at least. I applied for my brother on Oct 3
transcript request on Oct 4 uploaded same day
biometric done on Oct 7
Med pass Oct 4

How did you make the payment for GIC? through local currency account or foreign currency? and through which bank?

That was before I thought as long as you have details to wire you can easily go to any bank and get it done. However, my brother went to multiple banks and all the banks told him the same thing which is in order to send money to Canada or any other country you have to open foreign currency account but for that you must be a filer

I have paid my college fees through UBL bank for college fees they did the wire transfer but for GIC they said that it can be done through a dollar account.
Kindly please tell me have you paid GIC amount and through which method?
