Have your parents done a medical for supervisa in the last year that would still be valid? Could they be accessing that for their application?

My parents are in Canada on a super visa. Could that make a difference?

It seems to be a bit random. Some are getting request for biometrics for parents visiting Canada already and some are not. I ou will have to wait and see your case.

Do they request biometrics for everyone or it depends? My parents are in Canada from last 5 months. This is their third time visiting me. However I want to know because they are on visitor visa and I was planning to do an extension but if they ask biometrics they have to go back to India to get it done. Pls advise

Some seem to be asked for biometrics and others not so you’ll have to wait and see.

Thats great..some of us are stuck at "in process" for more than a month now.

There are stretches where it seems like nothing is happening but it your application is in process. Considering the government gives out the estimate of 12-24 months the applications are still on track to be processed much faster. Just be patient

for those who come from China, may I ask how long it normally takes from the AOR for them to request for the notarized Hu Kou Ben? my parents are currently in Canada, want to see if I should get it notarized here or wait till then go back to china in October.

Depends on the which visa office your case is forwarded. If it is Mississauga, you may not need it at all. If it is Hong Kong, you definitely need it. Timing wise, it is hard to say.

mine quite the same as your case
my application received on May 14. On June 25 got requested for updated document (missing signature). Sent them on June 28 via email. Until now, no update eCAS or AoR. Called CIC this morning to confirm on receiving my update doc

No No, i mean im waiting for medicals request after my SA, which is almost 20days back.
I got the "We are reviewing the results of your medical exam" today only....

Finally able to link the application today(I had a character missing in the passport in the
application file but CIC had the correct one).
It says they have requested the medical. Haven't seen anything in email or in CIC yet though.

FYI: My mom had undergone medicals within Canada for her visitor visa extension this year (2019) but CIC still asked for medical as a part of her PGP PR application. Hope this helps
