I emailed the colombo visa office and they said that our file was in queue. We’re about 3.5 months away from the 1 year mark.

Did they say that your file was never transferred? Or is it still in queue all this time? Our file was transferred 4 months ago to the colombo visa office ... so I’m a little worried too that I haven’t receive any medical request yet

You are way ahead of us. We are not even in the queue to be processed yet at the Colombo office. Apparently the file has been in transit from the London mission since forever. We know since May they have been saying it is in transit so unsure how much longer before they get it and place us in the queue. I am speechless and heart broken today. This is painful.

Thank you for your kind words. Losing hope for processing anytime soon. We had emailed them over the weekend. They replied today saying they haven't received the file yet and its in transit still. Once they receive it they will place it in queue for processing.

I got file transfer letter in November 2018. I am baffled as to why the file hasn't even reached Colombo yet. Devastating. Seems we maybe looking at an other 6 months or so.

This is what their email from yesterday says: "Thank you for your email. This file is currently in transit from London Mission. Once we receive the file, it will be in queue for processing."

ECAS says we started processing on November 23, 2018. So I don't even know what to believe right now. An immigration consultant today said if their email is what is says then we are looking at another 6 to 8 months as the queue at Colombo visa office is quite busy.

On the other hand when my MP called last week they said they were verifying a medical note and the travel information we had sent voluntarily.

So I don't know if they have or haven't started processing it yet. The email suggests they haven't yet.

I’m having a hard time making the payment online for booking the medical. It keeps telling me timed out even though I do it quickly. I tried several attempts. Any advice?

Actually there are not using electronically file tranfer all paper file send to colombo visa office by fedex courier

I used the doc.lk website. I had some issues so called directly and booked the appointment.

I wish I had an answer or explanation. The only thing I can think of is the principal applicant is Pakistani national and majority of Pakistani applications are processed at London Mission. But if they had to send it to London then just assign us an officer there...don't understand why they sent they did the transfer to Colombo but sent it to another mission.

I am hoping against hope this doesn't delay us too much. 8 months since file transfer and it is still in transit. We are just sad and clueless what to do.

did you try to order your gcms notes ? if not try to order GCMS notes then you can understand what actually going on in your Application .

I have twice and they tell us nothing too. Except for medical every thing else is not started. There is no notes whatsoever after the initial transfer in November from Sydney office.

This is totally unbelievable. The only means we have to know about our application are the emails and thethe gckey updates. What are we supposed to do if they are false? I still can't grasp how a file can be in transit for such a long time. This is really outrageous.i feel so bad for you. There is no Human factor in this entire framework for processing, we are being treated like some paperwork

Hi there, may I know how you sent that email? I would like to try as well. I thought they don't reply at all before the 1 year mark. My app is similar to yours I think. 3.5 months to hit 1 year time frame. My file was transferred on Feb 27 2019
