I was very comfortable with the time they give you before you start listening. The listening is by far the easiest partAwesome...
But do you think the listening section gave less time to read the questions in advance? I heard the example of the first section is gone in the computer test
I think you are right @enibeni23Let me start by agreeing that OINP costs an additional an $1500 , a bit more time consuming and locks you to work in Ontario for 2 years. However, it guarantees your ITA with the addition of 600 points. Last year, your score of 453 was an extremely competitive score and a sure shot score to get an ITA, but 453 this year is below the threshold, there are few thousand people in that score range and the numbers are only increasing. IMHO you ought to accept the OINP invitation, in the grand scheme of things, $1500 and a few more months of waiting will be worth it and you will have sufficient peace of mind. Remember you are one of the lucky few who got selected to the OINP and don't waste the opportunity. Many may feel that the scores may come down in a few months ( and it may) and in that case, you would have lost $1500 and about 4 months of time, but STILL it wouldn't take away the peace of mind aspect ( as well as any unfortunate uncertainties) and almost guaranteed slot for ITA. There are few situations in life where one must not become financially conservative, this is one such scenario.
I think you should accept and apply for OINP because from the next draw, the point might stay the same or only 1 point drop as quarter of OINP applicants( around 250) who got NOI on 31st May are expected to receive their nomination bfore the next draw and therefore will get 600 points and ITA. and the next quarter will get their ITA in the next draw and next and so on. So, it might take long before the score to drop around your score and by that time, your NOI will be expire then as you only have 45days to apply for OINP. So, if I were you, I would not think twice to received and apply for OINP. But if you wanna wait, you have two draws before your NOI expire so you have time to think, watch the draw score (go down/up) and consider the likelihood of getting regular ITA.I think you are right @enibeni23
There are 4 possibilities here:
1. I decline OINP and have to wait for Federal ITA - Worst Scenario
2. I accept OINP and am not nominated - Fallback to Option 1.
3. I get nominated by OINP, but before acceptance i also get Federal ITA - I will then reject the normal OINP and go with Federal one. I lose my 1500 CAD.
4. I don't get Federal ITA by the time I have to accept the OINP nomination - I accept OINP nomination, as 1$ today is better than a promise of 2$ tomorrow.
Now, I also had another question that i mentioned in my original post:
Do i have to declare my Visitor Visa in the "Status Documents in Canada" ? They mention things like work permit and resident visa, but don't mention visitor visa.
Thing is, I know only 3-4 ETL tools and visualisation tools. Can I still select 2172?Business intelligence is 2172, unfortunately the person who selected 2171 lost out on the ontario NOI. Big mistake.
Ontario has a lot of demand for BI. You can literally land and get a job in 2 weeks.
If I am not wrong, I think you will have to declare your visitor visa as it's an immigration document as well. Since they ask for "any other Canadian immigration document" , it is better that you mention it. Think they want to know whether the person has been previously been rejected or found ineligible.I think you are right @enibeni23

Anything related to etl is 2172Thing is, I know only 3-4 ETL tools and visualisation tools. Can I still select 2172?
Thanks for sharingYou will get in the next draw for sure. OINP is just extra processing for 2 months and additional $1500 cad. No advantages.
Gotcha and thanks! I received 8.5 for my listening last time but it was a paper delivered test. That's why I'm curious about the change in computer delivered test...I do find huge difference in writing in terms of planning and word counting -- it is easier to write 320+ words using a computer, while I struggled to reach just 250 words when writing by hand. Don't know if that would boost the score... probably won't lolI was very comfortable with the time they give you before you start listening. The listening is by far the easiest part
I think, the confusion had more to do with the job titles, which lead you and me to go for 2171. But anyway hope for the best going forward, I have already changed to 2172Thing is, I know only 3-4 ETL tools and visualisation tools. Can I still select 2172?
Thanks for your clarification, hope to get through the next one with 441 CRSAnything related to etl is 2172

Declare everything about visas you got, even for a transit purpose visa too. Also, don't forget to mention any visa rejection in the past if you got one of course.I think you are right @enibeni23

Well, would be nice to have another draw so soon. But then again to think about it, if its followed by a 3 weeks gap then it doesn't do us any favors.Well, we have now established that there's no correlation between maintenance notice and a draw, but I still like to report that the maintenance notice is up again for this Tuesday
